Vargem Grande Ecological Reserve Lázaro and Santa Maria Waterfalls East exit - Pireneus road km 11 (8km on dirty road) Trail: 500 meters as far as Santa Maria Waterfall (slight level) Trail: 1500 meters as far as Lazaro Waterfall (moderate level) Improvements: parking lot, cafeteria and restroom. Open daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
You need to enter by a restrict area (paying a small fee) and then park your car. With a 500meters walk (good trail, with stones in the ground) you reach a small sand beach in front of the waterfall. The water is refreshing, the view is nice and it’s a safe place too (2 lifeguards). The people ate most families, couples and small groups of friends. Has a snack bar close the waterfall (snacks, beer, water, sodas, etc). The entire place is cool and deserve a visit. Don’t miss a small gazebo wood in the trail, you can ger good photos over there. And you can get a good one over the wood bridge too.

Located 55 minutes from Pirenópolis with a 10km dirt road section in good conditions. Waze will guide you there. Beautiful breathtaking waterfall accessible via a 30 minute hike along a paved trail mostly in the shade. Another 30 minute hike on the way back along a different canion trail also in the shade. Both trails have steep sections and are not recommended for people with limited mobility. The entrance fee costs R$ 50 and is well worth it because nature is fully preserved and trails are paved and safe with banisters. Owner Rômulo is very friendly.
