Plzeň Region (Czech: Plzeňský kraj; German: Pilsner Region) is an administrative unit (kraj) in the western part of Bohemia in the Czech Republic. It is named after its capital Plzeň (English, German: Pilsen). In terms of area, Plzeň region is 7,561 km², the third largest region in the Czech Republic. However, the population of 572,459 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) it is the ninth most populous region. After the South Bohemian Region it is the second least densely populated region. The region can be roughly divided into two parts: a highly industrialized north-eastern part with a strong engineering tradition around Pilsen (Czech: Plzeň) and a more hilly and rural south-western part with smaller-sized manufacturing companies processing natural resources.

This place is just gorgeous. Nicely build, great walk, for all ages , and you can see the wolfs. The wooden elevated platform is really good and wolfs are just under you. We have seen seven adults and three puppies. Only one remark would be to the refreshments, this place would be complete with s mica Cafe rather than a vending machine. There is a small info centre and a playground. All for free, just parking is 30 Czk an hour. Highly recommended.

Every country has its symbols and legends and the Czech ones include Pilsner Urquell lager which has been brewed in a town called Plzen (Pilsen) since 1842. Since then the fame of Pilsner Urquell beer has spread around the world and, inspired by this exceptional brew, more than two-thirds of the beers produced today are commonly known as pils, pilsner or pilsener. The brewery tour showcases all of the authentic places where Pilsner Urquell lager has been brewed for more than 175 years, and where its story continues today. You will see the heart of the brewery - both the historical and contemporary brewhouse. You will smell and taste the raw materials that are used to brew Pilsner Urquell, and the panoramic cinema will take you through the brewing process. And at the end you will taste unfiltered Pilsner Urquell beer tapped straight from oak lager barrels in the historic brewery cellars. The brewery is open year-round. The journey from Prague takes about one-and-a-half hours and you can either travel on your own by car, bus or train.
The highlight of my time in Pilsen was the tour inside the brewery! Our guide Elizabeth was funny and very knowledgable, the beer tasting was just superb and the gift shop has some cool merch. If you go to Pilsen, you must do this tour.

Not too big zoo, but for children it is a pleasant distance, animals have a beautiful environment, interesting playground and plenty of rest places. An eye-catching exposition of the Czech river and farmhouse.

We visited this castle in the afternoon for around 3 hours and went for the option of seeing tower and palace (full price of 170 CZK). We definitely recommed it!!! We very positively surprised how huge the castle is - but also it's in very good condition! Both guided tours were very interesting and the view from the tower amazing!!! If you are somewhere near this castle, it's worth a visit! ;-)
