Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

This charming and scenic square in the bohemian Montmartre district looks straight off a Hollywood set, but it offers a glimpse of authentic Parisian life. Just steps away are hip eateries, cafes and boutiques—and the Abbesses Métro stop stands right here, making the Place easily reachable for visitors.
I'm one who usually opts for the stairs, and never the elevator...when it's reasonable. Beware that the stairs at this station are steep and go on forever. It is legitimately a chore to climb the winding stairs to the top. Fun if you're up for stair climbing, if not, opt for the elevator at this station.
