I messaged Ian, asking if I could possibly order some rose ganache as part of a valentine’s gift for my husband. He messaged back to say they were currently out of stock but if I let him know what kind of chocolate (dark or milk) I’d prefer the bars to be made in, then he would make some that day and post them the following. True to his word, they were made, posted and received in Liverpool inside three days. Excellent service and even better rose ganache bars. I only wish we lived closer ????

We've been visiting this Aladdin's cave of second hand books for over 20 years and are never disappointed. The owner has a wealth of knowledge and is always cheery and helpful. With nothing costing over £3, it's a great place to add to your library; when our boys were young, they loved being able to get a pile of books for pocket money prices. Also, if you're having a clear out, you can take your old books in and get money off some new ones.

The farm shop is small but has a good range of products, we’d eaten in the cafe on Wednesday 4th Nov & visited the shop afterwards, lots of locally grown fruit & vegetables, locally sourced milk, eggs & honey as well as freshly baked bread. As Christmas is approaching they had a number of hampers that were reasonably priced too. There was a small choice of ready prepared meals both fresh & frozen as well as gluten free options. We returned on Thursday to purchase a number of items, the fresh chicken Kiev was lovely the sausage roll was huge & delicious. We bought some of the fresh produce priced at £10 for 3 & when we opened the cool bag once home, the smell was amazing & made us wish we’d bought more. On the Thursday a number of the cakes & pastries were being individually sealed & available for sale in the shop which was a great idea, there were a number of loaf type cakes such as carrot also available. The only suggestion I’d make is to offer take away coffees for those visiting, we’d walked from Thornton & it would’ve been lovely to have had a hot drink (appreciate cafe was closed due to second lockdown but would’ve been a great option, as the cafe is the village was doing so). You can only enter the shop with a trolley & they are limited to 4 at a time so no worries about the measures, felt very safe!

an escape pod of crafty delights for all ages. A retail space for bead lovers, button coveters and fabric fanatics and a workshop area to learn new skills pop in for an hour with the kids to paint a pot you can take away with you but be advised that one hour often turns into many! Check out our Facebook page for more information. Open 7 days a week
