Colorful Phuket is a mélange of lifestyles, a place where tranquil monks navigate the same streets as pumped up nightclubbers. The ornate temples and lively cafes of Old Town are prime spots for exploration. Check out the Shrine of the Serene Light and the aromatic Nguan Choon Tong herb shop. Browse and bargain for pretty trinkets at the nearby Thai Amulet Market. Don’t miss an opportunity to take in a performance at the epic Siam Niramit Phuket theater, a true cultural extravaganza.

Great place to visit, did so twice. Photographer's paradise. Visited late afternoon, yes there were people, it is an active temple - but never crowded. Guess could be so at peak tourist-coaches hours. Sat evening a night market / food stalls were being set up in the grounds just as the sun was setting. Practically all Buddhist temples visited (and those we just drove past) would be worth a visit if they existed in isolation, due to the elaborate sculptural art that they are so rich in, plus they can look a little samey, but "Wat Chalong" stands out, so if you only visit one on Phuket island, make sure this is it.

It's hard to imagine just how big it is until you actually arrive and wow we were blown away by it's presence and the views from here are simply breathtaking. It's free entry which is always a plus plenty of food and drink options and a great chance to score some souvenirs definitely needs to be on everyone's itinary if your visiting Phuket.

We just got back from Phuket & spent our Christmas break there. I enjoyed this place more than The Big Buddha! I don’t understand why one review said this place is small & not worth it. WRONG! This temple is huge & totally worth the visit! For one, it was practically empty when we went, so we got to enjoy walking around without a huge crowd. This is one of the few less visited temples compared to the other more popular ones, so if you want to avoid a bigger crowd, go to this one! The intricate details on the structures & the “Gods” were impeccable!! Truly a spectacular & solemn place!

I felt privileged to be here, as it is very much, an active temple of worship. And, I could feel a positive energy all around this highly spiritual place. There are a lot of artifacts, figurines and artwork, all masterfully put together to enjoy (see my YouTube), in this fantastic shrine. Well worth dropping in and feeling the reflective vibe.

This Budhha Temple is a beautiful creation jointly by chinese and Europeans. Before visiting the temple, we first went to a separate area within the temple complex to meet the Monk and to seek his blessings. In this part of the building, people offer food items to the monks, cook food for them and seek blessings. Here there is a Budhha Idol, where 3 incense sticks are offered- one for Lord Budhha himself, 2nd for disciples of Budhha and 3rd for the Monks. There is a school in the Temple premises where teachers are mostly monks themselves. The residence of the Monk is also situated in the same premises. At the entrance to the main temple, there was a small structure called 'boundary' which is typically a symbol for such places and was exactly at the centre of the front part of the temple. And in all total 9 such structures were found around the Temple premises. The main Temple has a huge idol of Lord Budhha, where we prayed for peace and wellbeing by bowing down 3 times as per the ritual. Behind this temple, there is a huge conical structure called pagoda, where bones and ashes of Lord Budhha are preserved and there is no access for the public to the remains of the Lord. Felt satisfied after paying a visit to temple and after receiving blessings from the Monk

A small, colourful and peaceful Chinese Shrine. A tranquil pocket in Old Phuket Town good for a short meditation session to pay respect. Nice street passage to keep the noise of the bustling Old Town. Its definitely a nice spot to just to be in peace and take photos. No entrance fee, no smoking, and no shoes in the temple.
