Philipsburg is the capital of Dutch St. Maarten, a Caribbean island divided into Dutch and French (Saint Martin) sides. Bargain seekers flock to the duty-free and sales-tax-free stores of Philipsburg's mile-long commercial district. Visitors also enjoy the city's art galleries, historic forts, casinos and zoo, as well as Great Bay Beach and its boardwalk. Offshore, on the 12 Metre Challenge, guests can work as part of the crew on one of five boats used in the 1987 America's Cup competition.

What can I say, you have to gamble where the locals go! The Coliseum and Princess casino are the only two places to gamble on this island. The staff are pleasant, the tables are fun and the drinks are good. The Bloody Mary's at the Coliseum are so good!!!
Hi. My name is Ameera Groeneveldt from the Caribbean island of St Maarten. I am a Memory Casting artist. This is the best job ever. One day I decided to do a memory cast of my daughters fingers. Both of us were super excited to see how it would turn out. When we pealed back the mould and the her fingers cast was revealed, I was hooked. Such an amazing memory and experience with my girl. I decided there and then that I had to do this for other people in my country and abroad. I am a Memory Artist
