My family of 4 went took a class with Mina and her sister back in January 2021. We stayed at the Paradise resort which is further away so we rented some scooters to be able to get ourselves around. It was really easy to make a booking and we were able to specify all of the things that we wanted to cook (private class). Mina speaks English very well, we learned so much from her lessons and stories! We learned about the ingredients, how to make coconut milk and cream straight from the coconut, and how to makes the pastes for yellow, green, and massaman curries from scratch. The whole experience was educational and more importantly really fun, Mina and her sister were both wonderful! This course might be a little more expensive than other cooking classes in the area, but (at the very least compared to any of the resort options) I'd have to say this is a much more authentic and fulfilling experience and 100% worth the cost (and more). As others have said, it was the best food we ate on the island.

Me and my husband hadagreat time on Ann's course! We ended up having aprivate class and it was great! We started at the local market and ann showed us everything and explained about local herbs and spices, we picked up fresh ingredients according to the dishes we decided to cook and then went to the cooking school and started working. Ann was so nice, informaive and patient... we highly recommend it. Worth every Baht. Tzviya and yoni from israel

We offer three different food tour programs. Each tour offers you different flavors and highlights, not to mention a lot of fun activities. We aim to introduce you to Thai culture and wish to share a different experience away from the touristic beaches and national parks of Phang-Nga.

We are situated on a virtually unspoiled island of lush, tropical calm in the emerald and turquoise waters of Phang Nga Bay draped in never-ending folds of evergreen forest and facing the sapphire blue waters of the Andaman Sea.

Learn to cook traditional Thai cuisine with Pui, one of Khao Lak’s most popular Thai cooking teachers. Pui’s class is all about you getting the most out of your course. There is no set menu where you are told what you will be making and there’s no schedule where certain dishes are prepared only on certain days. The class take place on a garden terrace, over looking a lush tropical garden.
We where a small group of six started with a visit to the market to buy produce and then back to the cooking class, idilic location Pui was a great host and knew what she was talking about, spoke great English and a good knowledgable teacher. we made nine dishes including spring rolls, green curry, pad Thai, great experience on how to make real authentic Thai food from a local. highly recommended for those interested in cooking.

We chose Lay cooking because we wanted to support a smaller locally owned business rather than a large corporate owed business. We were very happy with our decision. We were picked up in an air conditioned van and brought to a local market to explore before heading to Lays restaurant. The instruction was wonderful and the food we made was delicious. (A lot of food . So arrive hungry!) The only thing to consider is that this is an outdoor restaurant. There were fans to keep us “ cool”, and we were not too bothered by the heat, but I imagine if you are heat sensitive, this might not be the right experience for you . We would definitely go back. Very fun!

Hi, my name is Apple and I would love to show you some of the secrets of Thai cooking. I have created a cosy kitchen overlooking the river not too far from Khao Lak’s town centre. I learnt to cook food the traditional way, helping my Mama in the kitchen from an early age. I have also run a popular Thai restaurant and more recently I cook daily for my guests at popular guest house.
The experience starts from your hotel, you are collected and head to the local market, Apple takes you through the market and you get to see some great produce. After the market the fun really begins, I'm not going to give all the little suprises away! Apple is very welcoming and her English was the best we encountered during our holiday. This was my top experience whilst in Thailand and worth every penny, I can't recommend Apple enough.
