My family of four, 2 adults and 2 teenagers did the 2 hour experience this morning and had an amazing time! Fun and informative, the birds ranged from a barn owl to a bald eagle and both Pete and Adrian gave us lots of information on all the different birds and answered all of our questions. Would recommend to anyone!!

A place for rest and relaxation, or for prayer, reflection and healing "Bield" is an old Scottish word, rich and resonant in meanings, from shelter to welcome, from refuge to strength. The Bield at Blackruthven was set up in 1998 to be a centre for Christian Spirituality, retreat and healing in the widest sense of the word.
Marianne and Robin have created a place where every detail is aimed at a peaceful, refreshing and healing experience. I came along for a retreat organised by my church, but hope to return on my own again. The rooms are comfortable, the grounds well-tended and everything is lovingly kept in lovely condition. Spiritual nourishment is found here...Whether you know what you're looking for or not.

Amazing hiking spot! We found this quite by accident turning off the main road can a trip from Edinburgh to Inverness. You're able to go over this very high suspension footbridge with beautiful views through the valley and River beyond. The hike itself was beautiful and nice because it had changes in elevation. Nothing too strenuous. you can walk along the trails up to the visitor center which we found to be closed for some reason. he didn't really need that visitor center though with the beauty that surrounds you up there.

There’s a fantastic walk along the side of the loch/river that takes you from the end of the main road, right to the Dam visitor centre car park. Did the walk about four times whilst staying at Gardeners Cottage. Was great to have this quiet walk right on our doorstep

I ran up the woods along good paths to discover this hidden gem then further on to the Edradour Distillery, followed by a sweeping run down hill with a cheeky turn about the Atholl Palace hotel grounds which are a beautifully manicured contrast to the mysterious woods

** The car park and toilets are currently closed due to building works, with public access to the trails via the Loch Leven Heritage Trail. For more information please check the RSPB Loch Leven blog on our website. We are sorry for the inconvenience. ** Set on the southern shore of the loch, RSPB Scotland Loch Leven nature reserve offers a great day out for families, nature lovers and wildlife watchers alike. Formerly known as Vane Farm, the RSPB bought the reserve in 1967 as a centre for environmental education and it is still a fantastic place for children to explore and discover nature today. Visitors can climb the trail through the woodland to the top of Vane Hill for a spectacular view over the Kinross-shire hills and countryside, or meander down to the wetland trail where three hides allow people to get really close to nature. In the summer, ospreys fish on the loch, and in the winter, thousands of pink-footed geese, swans and ducks make the reserve their home.
Great cafe with delicious scones and lots of vegan options. A nice place to meet friends as there are lots of different walks, nice clean toilets, outside seating and the cafe is currently set up to socially distance with ease. The cafe staff are very friendly and helpful. There is also an RSPB shop with all sorts of books, gifts and birdseed????.
