Cloudbridge is a private Nature Reserve and Research Center protecting the cloudforest next to Chirripó National Park. We offer lovely hiking trails with gorgeous waterfalls and the opportunity to see amazing wildlife. We also offer accommodations for guests, and other services.
The well kept and well signed trails, the abundance of greenery and wildlife and committed staff will make your stay at Cloudbridge more than worth the trip inland. Stayed in the hummingbird cabin and was lucky to wake up to the title residents and after sundown on the property watch the coatimundis dancing in the dusk.

We had arranged a bird walk by email, and were greeted when we arrived by friendly office staff and our guide, Andrés, who turned out to be a very skilled birder and super nice guy. We had a great walk around the property and on the trails, as Andrés pointed out all the birds he saw and heard (I had asked for a guide who is a good ear birder, and indeed, Andrés knows bird songs and calls extremely well!). He was also very quick with his spotting scope for my spouse, who is fairly new to birding, and pointed out interesting plants and animals. We ended up seeing or hearing 80 species in just a few hours, in the late morning/early afternoon, including a bunch of beautiful hummingbird and tanager species, toucans, Wood-Rail, Black-throated Trogon, Lesson's Motmot, and Pale-billed Woodpecker, a spectacularl bird I was hoping to see. Afterwards we got a tour of the Skutch house, which was interesting. Highly recommend a visit!

The waterfalls are absolutely gorgeous, powerful and impressive. The hike from the parking lot all the way to the falls is long and mostly uphill but worth the effort. If you hike make sure you are wearing hiking shoes. It's good to have a backpack with a towel, extra sunscreen, a light snack, water . If you aren’t a frequent hiker it could be better to take the tour truck because the way in is a bit steep. Water was so refreshing and the view was breathtaking. The upper set of falls are great for photography while the lower set is good for swimming. The water at the falls where you can swim is deep once you get away from the shore, and the rocks are very slippery and sharp, so be careful & wear water shoes. t's a great place for a refreshing dip and pictures. If you only can, do not miss visiting this natural wonder. Enjoy!!!

If you are in San Gerardo, the Secret Gardens is a must-stop for lunch or dinner. The food is absolutely delicious, the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the gardens themselves are breathtaking and gorgeous. Make sure you spend enough time there to walk through the entire grounds. Bird watching from the dining area and make sure you try the empanadas!
