Stone Bridge Near Village Zovich

Reviewed By Necovska_S - Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia

The bridge in the village of Zovich is also known as the 'movie bridge', thanks to the films made by the Macedonian director Milcho Manchevski. It rightfully deserves this name, as this is not some ordinary village bridge. The view from the top of the hill when you approach the bridge is amazing and unreal, but once you are at its foot, it is even more exiting. d\Don't miss the opportunity to step berfoot into the cold water of the mounting creek (Gradeshnica river) running under the brindge - it is so refreshing. Also, wear suitable footware, as the approach is steep and the rocks can be slippery. Nearby the village there is a restaurant where you can try the tasty Macedonian cusine. They also rent rooms if you want to stay overnight.

Markovi Kuli (Marko's Towers)

Reviewed By OnAir155431 - Prilep, Republic of North Macedonia

The fortress "Markovi Kuli" in Prilep or "Markukule", a symbol of the city, is a remnant of a medieval city. It was named after the last king, the most famous and sung in folk epic King Marko, who ruled until 1395. The site dates back to the early antique settlement Keramija, which is evidenced by numerous findings, as well as rock drawings dating from the 7th century BC. With their dominant defense system, it makes them unique in the Balkans. The fortress is located on a 120 to 180 meter hill of volcanic origin which abounds in many unusual rocks that by their shape got their name from the inhabitants. On April 10, 2006, "Markovi Kuli" was declared a Monument of Nature.

Shirok Sokak Street

Reviewed By IgorMarkovic - Smederevo, Serbia

Bitola's main pedestrian zone, usually know as Širok sokak, is probably one of the most beutiful walking areas in this part of the Balkans, in Macedonia for sure. It is known for architecturally and aesthetically beautiful buildings and numerous honorary consulates. It is a vibrant part of the city which combines both the traditional architecture with modern facilities. It is full of caffees, restaurants, but also museums and interesting oldfashioned workshops. All in all, take a slow walk and enjoy its beauty, you won't regret it. All recommendations!
