We rented about 8 canoes and kayaks from Brent and the crew at Canoe and Kayak Rental and they were great. They helped us get them to the Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley RR in Milford where the very cooperative train crew loaded them on a flat bed. Then we rode the train north from Milford to a great spot to canoe down the Susquehanna river back to a spot near the station. Brent came and picked up all or boats. They were very helpful and made the whole trip possible. Be sure to call ahead if you think this was worth doing.

A local bar that is always a good time. Friendly staff and great bartenders. They have live bands and DJs frequently, as well as karaoke nights, and line dancing. It's a family run business that makes you feel welcome.

White Silo Farm & Winery

This little winery has transformed over the years into a great place to come with friends or as couples. There are wine tours, food, wine tastings and the wine is awesome! They offer a variety of reds, whites, fruits and sparkling wines. The new Anita's red has a full body to it plus the story behind the wine is heartwarming. Check out their website for some awesome events, food tastings and art shows.

For years my Niece has sent pictures of her children playing in this beautiful place. I visited with them the other day - and I felt it was a shame to call it a swamp! It has fresh water flowing and beautiful foliage. A lovely place to see.

Stormville Airport Antique Show & Flea Market

Reviewed By antiquerescue - Pennsylvania

An improvement over our last visit, but it's still a bit deceiving that it's called an antique flea market.
Sure there is a good selection of antique vendors, but there is a whole lot of vendors selling sunglasses, socks and underwear, and China knock offs.
I have noticed lots of buyers being suspicious of actual Antiques.
Takes away from the honest vendors.
All in all we found lots of good things and met some interesting dealers.
On this holiday weekend, they were really caught off guard with the lack of Port-O-Pottys and the ability to service them. The lines were incredible!

So wear your walking shoes and don't drink too much.
It's a large market and you'll enjoy the hunt.

Barton Orchards

Reviewed By AdvancedCake - Thornwood, New York

It happened to be a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in October, the heady aroma of sweet vinegar from the piles of apples under every tree that had begun to rot. sweeping views of the Taconic hills & Catskills in the distance. Corn maze, haunted house, trampolines, and a bar with 4 flavors of hard cider on tap - something for everybody.

4 stars because it is on the pricey side, $15+tax per person including toddlers. we got lucky with lines, but others complained about long waits at both main entry and the haunted house.

Squantz Pond State Park

Squantz Pond is certainly quieter than Candlewood Lake (right across the way) but it a great place to spend the day or just afternoon! For a beginner kayaker - this lake is perfect to work on your skills or just float around looking at all the different houses. Remember that after Memorial Day you have to pay to park, especially at the boat launch and spots fill up fast!

Lovers Leap State Park

It was a very nice natural forested park. We were attracted first by the beautiful old iron bridge over the river, and there were other information signs too telling about the history of the owners of the area and previous homes on the land. Nice park.
