I have been a fan of this wine for many years so this year returning from the south we made a detour to visit the Chateau. The location is superb and it provides the opportunity to drive through so many familiar wines. However, the work to present this wine maker was top quality. The Chateau and the surrounding gardens were picturesque. The best is saved for the person tour that was central to the visit. The welcome we received from the young lady who introduced us to the history, vines and the wine-making of Pichon Baron was first class and she so understood someone who had waiting so long to make this visit. I am not sure how many people will make use of these comments but if you stumble across Pichon Baron please stop off, you will not be disappointed.

Incredible visit... a different take on the wine business, its production, and the wine makers who love the region and try to create the best wines they can. Don’t miss it. You’ll learn do much. Une visite incontournable... l’autre face des producteurs de Bordeaux, au delà des grands Chateaux. L’amour de la vigneet d’un bon vin. Une visite incontournable.

We had a wonderful time visiting this chateau. It’s amazing how much they’ve done to produce the wine to be organic and in an environmentally friendly way. Violaine was a great tour guide - very knowledgeable about wine and passionate about chateau pontet-canet! The wine itself is really excellent!! Tried the 2017 vintage and it was one of my favorite wines I’ve ever had!

This was one of my favourite wine tours from my Bordeaux trip. Mouton Rothschild is really a state of the art winery and it was amazing to be able to tour the facility. Our guide Melanie was very polished and was able to answer questions about the wine making process as well as the history of the estate and Rothschild family. The tour also included a visit to the art and label gallery. Both of which were very impressive. It ended with a wine tasting of three outstanding wines. 1. Chateau d'Armailhac 2012 2. Chateau Clerc Milon 2014 3. Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2011 All three were 1st wines from vineyards owned by the Rothschilds. The bottles were also from very good vintages. I found some wineries on my trip often let us taste the lesser quality vintages.
