Art Lab Studios & Gallery

Art Lab Studios and Gallery is an open working studio environment for five artists whose work spans from clay to ink, fabric to paint: you'll find works in oil, acrylic, and encaustic, as well as jewellery, fabric, book making and polymer clay. An excellent quality selection of art supplies is also available. In the Gallery you can view exhibitions from regional artists of note. Art Lab also encourages entry into the world of creation through its extensive workshop series. The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxed.

I love the variety this gallery offers, several different mediums, watercolours, acrylics, pottery and quilts. Oh I would love to have bought a quilt, but we were in a hurry to get to the Joggins Fossil Park. I wish I spent a little more time, the artist in the store was ever so lovely, very chatty and friendly. If you have the time, talk to the artist and have a look around, it was a beautiful collection of arts. I actually bought a watercolour pad, pencils and pens (limited in supply) for my own arts.

Partridge Island

We read the reviews before heading out and were a bit apprehensive to do the hike. We have children 7 & 10 and they easily manage the trail. There is a large incline of 100 metres right out of the gate which will get your heart pumping but that is really the only ‘challenge’. We had no issues with bugs or ticks but stayed on the trail. The views are really Beautiful. We did walk around the northeast side of the island and the kids found some great quartz to add to their collection.
