Jivdani Temple

Reviewed By letsgoaround - Mumbai, India

Today i visited jivdani temple, i took a 5.41am dahanu local from Dadar. Its good if you start early. It took exactly 1 hour to reach virar. From virar east outside station you get share auto to the temple for rs.10 inr per person. As you reach the base their is a ganesha temple. It's a custom to visit Ganesha whenever you start something good.To reach the temple you need to climb 1400 steps. it's bit tiring.I saw people climbing the steps on their knees to complete their religious vows also called "navas" in marathi and "mannat" in hindi language. Once you climb this 1400 steps you reach the temple. Its very relaxing over here.Once you come out on the exit you have mahakali and kalbhairav temple.Again need to get down this 1400 steps but here you don't feel the stress. As you get down you have some small time eateries to have something and quench your thirst.Even the temple trust runs a small time eatery which gives 2 dilis and chutney for INR Rs.5/-.Overall it's a must visit place which can be a Sunday outing in itself.

Had a great trek. This trek is easy actually than it looks. Started at midnight and climbed the hill around 6:30am. The view surrounding the place was awesome. Try to spot the Bollywood star Salman Khan's farmhouse, it's clearly visible.

I went to this place with my friends. It can be accessed from Sakwar village and you can get some local guides from the village itself. But we didn't took the help of the local guides. It took us around 3 hours to reach the top. You can enjoy beautiful scenery on the way up the mountain. Though the climb is not too challenging. It is advisable to carry good trekking shoes, enough water ( 4-5 litres) and food with you. Rainy season is the best time to do this trek. In some places there were arrows marked on the rocks to indicate the right way.

We were looking for a place close from Mumbai where we could feel a bit of the winter chills as you usually get that in the city. What better it could be staying in farm like Samarth Krupa Agro Farm (Eco forest) in Palghar approx 100 kms from Mumbai. We were a group of 5 including our 2 years old son and in laws. We don't have a car so booked ola outstation. Initially we decided to keep the car however after speaking to the owner (Mr. Vijay Mali, a very humble person) we decided to have only the drop as he confirmed to arrange for a car back home. Now comes the real experience. We reached a bit late (check in time is 10 am). Once we checked in to our mud house we took a quick tour of the farm which had trees of various flowers n fruits and a fish farm. Post lunch took a bullock cart ride which my son enjoyed though felt pity for the oxen may be wont ride again. Then went to further explore the organic farm and the experience was just wow. The local people working in the fields guided us to show what all they had cultivated. Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach ,turnip, eggplants , fenugreek n more. Apart from veggies the farm has got a poultry farm, cattles ,turkey ,ducks ,rabbits, and a goat farm. People who does want to walk around a lot may enjoy archery table tennis or the swimming pool. The food I would say average but clean and hygenic. We liked the hot breakfast more which was served next morning. It was already time for us to leave but we cant just leave with the memories ,right? So we bought some organic vegtable carried along with us. As Mr. Vijay promised he arranged for a car for our return and we left the place after great tractor ride.

"Exploration is the essence of Human Spirit"....... Exploring Jawhar...... the Land of Waterfalls.....@ 6am at 10 degree..... cascading down from a height of 300 feet,.......... into a crater shaped bowl. The view of water rushing through dense forests and forming the waterfall is glorious! I visited this place in Jan 2019..... very easy to find..... just 5-10 kms away for town.... really beautiful.... one can down up to the waterfall basin.... there are some activities also there.... in rainy seasons it is very dangerous but the view is breathtaking....... there is a hotel located near to the waterfall..... best time to reach there is at the morning before sunrise or just around sunrise...... it best to take some food with you.... the way down is good as the steps are maintained but due to landslides, some parts are broken........ You can reach by car as well as a bike.... there is no entrance fees....
