1 hour flight, 5 hours of land travel and 3 hours boat ride going to Balabac a secluded and raw paradise in the farthermost and south-westernmost tip of palawan. Situated in the sulu sea, Balabac is a group of 31 islands and islets very rich in biodiversity (one of the most diverse in the world), unspoiled fine sandy beaches, endemic flora and fauna and rich marine life. It is the last of the last frontier. Balabac is indeed a piece of heaven on earth.

Definitely in my recommendations list for divers. The wrecks have served as habitat for fish and coral, penetration dives are also allowed and you can see the wheelhouse, cargo holds, boilers and such...definitely will come back to these wrecks...

A romantic dinner at the floating restaurant and a magical tour with Firefly.
A must-see tour when you're in Puerto Princessa. The tour also includes (if your lucky) bio luminous planktons and star gazing. The firefly watching is a for-your-eyes only kind of tour since you can't take pictures. But what makes it truly enjoyable is that the more you make noise (while the small boat is cruising), the more lights they make... it's like Christmas trees being lit while you're passing by the mangroves. Also included in the tour package is a buffet dinner in a floating restaurant, serenaded by a lovely lady (a guest-jammer is also welcome).

The Palawan Butterfly Ecological Garden and Tribal Village is a place that reflects the mesmerising beauty of a province that is known as the "Last Frontier of the Philippines". It showcases a sheer variety or tropical butterflies from the Southern region of the country. These free flying butterflies are surrounded with live exhibits of scorpions, green-crested lizards, phasmid and mantises which are considered their natural predators. It is a window to the natural ecology of these colourful insects. Another added attraction are the rescued endemic wildlife of Palawan. These animals are given the chance of a second life by being rescued from poachers and wouldn't have survived in the wild because of the probability of suffering the same fate all over again. Like the Palawan Peacock Peasant and the Palawan Bearcat, these animals are now ambassadors of their own species in the wild. By educating the public about these wild yet gentle creatures the facility promotes public awareness about how our actions as human beings can affect greatly everything in our environment.
We went here after going to bakers hill, because it was close. 50 pesos entry and we had a short tour around the small enclosure, but it's such a lovely place! Amazingly they have local indigenous Palawan people, and they show some of their traditional crafts and musical instruments, and show some skills like making fire and shooting blow darts. This felt like an absolute gem of a place, and while the butterfly's were amazing, they also had bearcats, (a real thing!) Scorpions geckos, some different insects and snakes. If you're close, I recommend going, it won't take more than an hour and you'll be glad you went. I suggest you buy something or put some money in the tip box, it's so cheap and the money goes to support the indigenous communities.

We had a spare day in coron and wanted something different to do. We saw the mixed reviews here and thought it’s worth a go anyway. We messaged ahead on their Facebook page and they replied saying a day and a time we should come for best viewing. Oh my god it was incredible. Trees glowing and twinkling with fireflies, like embers. One of the park staff will paddle you round the lagoon and you will see bioluminescent plankton when you disturb the water with the paddle or your hand. UNBELIEVABLE!! Like static sparks in the water. The stars were incredibly bright also. We also managed to hold one or two fireflies which was just magic. This is the most underrated place in coron by a mile!! TIPS: -Go between July-Nov. -Message kingfisher park on Facebook before committing to go. Some days aren’t ideal for firefly and plankton viewing (hence the mixed reviews where people just turn up expecting it). They replied within 30 mins explaining we should come at 6.30pm on a particular day as there was no moon, so we would have the darkest sky for the stars, fireflies and plankton. -It cost 300 pesos each.

A breeding place for Philippine Crocodiles and home to some endangered animals in the Philippines. Tourist can pet and cuddle baby crocodiles there.
Relatively small place with a high concentration of crocodiles measuring from 2 feet up to 15 feet. the guided tour was great and there is a lot to learn.
