A great place to visit, wine tasting was in a rustic atmosphere. Beautiful wines, whites, rose, reds and port a must to sample and buy. Friendly volunteers with a wealth of knowledge about the Homestead, outbuildings and the grounds. There are plants for sale. You can spend as long as you like strolling through the Homestead and beautiful grounds learning the history of Douglas Vale. It is a must visit when you are in Port Macquarie. Easy access and proximity to the town centre. A educational experience not to be missed.

I can think of no better way of spending a Saturday morning than going to the Nabiac Farmers Market. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the stalls of many and varied but most of all, quality. I stop and get a freshly squeezed orange juice from the certified organic grower to start my day. I then buy my duck eggs for the month, shop at one of 4 different plant growers, buy my flowers from Lyz at Kinspirit irises and day lily farm. The musician they have there are very good too. It is without a doubt THE BEST market (and I have been to them ALL) on the mid north coast. The range of stalls, the quality of produce and goods and the atmosphere make this the best little market around! After the market check out the ops shop and the gorgeous shops and cafes in the village centre.

Brookie’s Gin is produced at our farm distillery in the hinterland of Byron Bay. We're only open for tours by appointment, so yours will be a special experience. The distillery is set in the heart of our macadamia farm surrounded by subtropical rainforest. On arrival, you will be welcomed to the cellar door with a refreshing Brookie's Gin & Tonic as we take you on a journey through the story of Cape Byron Distillery, the Brook family farm and the art of distillation. A guided tour through the subtropical rainforest is a magical experience; to smell, see and touch the botanicals that are used in the gin, learn the history of the Big Scrub Rainforest and fall in love with this special place. Once back in the distillery you will be lead through an in-depth tasting of our products… and no doubt a few special surprises! Enjoy a fun sensory experience guided by our distillery tour team. To finish, relax on the deck overlooking Brookfarm, watch the birds & enjoy the view! See you soon:)
My wife and I had a great time at the distillery. I had low expectations for the rainforest tour, but it turned out to be really good and quite informative. Our host Elias did a great job. The gin tasting and information session (on the distillation process) was also really good. Thoroughly recommend this as an activity.
