Located in Oyster Bay, New York and originally landscaped by the Olmsted Brothers, the grounds feature 409 acres of greenhouses, rolling lawns, formal gardens, woodland paths and outstanding plant collections. The original historic estate buildings remain intact including Coe Hall, a 65-room Tudor Revival mansion designed by Walker and Gillette. The interior of the house is a showcase of artistry and craftsmanship and features a distinctly American aesthetic through original ironwork commissions by Samuel Yellin and murals painted by artists Robert Winthrop Chanler and Everett Shinn. Planting Fields is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
This was a beautiful park in which to spend a couple hours on a low key vacation. While we did not manage to walk all the trails in our limited time here, we enjoyed what we saw immensely, and had the place almost to ourselves. I would love to come back in the spring when more flowers are blooming. Do not miss the main greenhouse! The cactus, begonia and orchid branches were great, as well as the wonderful tropical plants and trees in the main section. The dahlia garden was very nice. Also of note, the Sensory garden and Italian garden. After Labor Day, the $8 per car fee is only collected on weekends.

A bully good historic attraction, not to be missed: the home of Theodore Roosevelt from 1902 to 1906, considered the "Summer White House," a beautiful 23-room Victorian mansion estate that also includes a 37-acre National Environmental Study Area of forest, tidal salt marsh and bay beach.
There was more to see here than we realised and wished we'd allowed more time for our visit. As well as the tour of the house, which was excellent and took around 40 mins, there is a small, well presented museum, a couple of short movies about Sagamore Hill and life of TR, some interesting interpretative signs around the grounds and a nice nature trail down to the water. The house was built to his requirements, is full of TRs personal effects and furnished just as the family lived in it. We learnt so much about this fascinating individual and his views and beliefs. You can only visit the house on a tour and in peak season you need to book ahead if you have a national park pass on the parks website for free. If not best to show up early and book on a tour for $10 each for a time slot as tickets are often sold out by noon.

I’ve loved Billy Joel since I was a teenager. I’ve seen him live a dozen times over many decades. My oldest son (27) is an engineer and fascinated by motorcycles so he and I and his gal set out for an afternoon (from relatives who live nearby) to visit. It was fabulous! We had the place to ourselves (one other couple was there). The manager was delightful and so friendly. She recognized my son’s interest and background as a machinist and engineer and let him engage. He’s now a loyal follower of the shop. She recommended things to do (and awesome Italian Ice) in Oyster Bay. We wandered Main Street and around the Park at the Bay, ate awesome Italian Ice (homemade - bring cash) and checked out other local sites for a truly wonderful afternoon.

We are a community sailing and marine education facility. Providing access to the water to groups and individuals through kayaking, standup paddle boarding, sailing, and marine educational programs for schools, groups and scouts.
Sonar 23' or Hobie Getaway 17' are great sailboats, Oyster Bay is beautiful and WFC offers wonderful community boating options and service, and the 10 pack is a good deal.

My son and friends visited this historic location and we were all thrilled. The location is rich in history from the original building he and his family lived in to the almost all original furnishings and artifacts it houses. The tour is a guided one and lasts for approximately one hour. The wealth of information our guide passed on to us was enlightening and very interesting. Climbing up and down staircases is involved in the three story home, something to consider when booking the tour. There are no restroom facilities in the actual home itself but they are located nearby next to the check in building. Parking is free on the grounds and tickets can be purchased online or at the facility at the check in building. This place is a must for history buffs!

The Home is very interesting, as is the story of its owner (Robert Townsend, REvolutionary Spymaster). The staff is very knowledgable, and as a bonus,Oyster Bay is a quaint town to walk around

Micro-brewery located in the heart of Oyster Bay. All of our beers are brewed in Oyster Bay. We are home to the Barn Rocker, the beer of the NY Islanders. We are open for flights, pints and growler fills. We do not have a menu for food, however we serve hot pretzels. You are welcome to bring in food from outside.
Got a Groupon for this place just to try it out and it was awesome! Great atmosphere, beer and games!! It looks like nothing special on the outside but if your a beer drinker definitely worth the experience. Also loved all the giant games that that had. So much fun.

Hi, I parked at Chelsea Mansion. Beautiful Grounds, the trails start following trail around the pond back of house. You walk through cut out fence. This brings you to the bridle paths at 1st. You can park at Bill Peterson Nature Center right next door if you don’t want to go to mansion. This starts at the bridle paths( I think lol) watch out for horse poop! Ok there are so many different paths that to choose. I suggest stick with a direction so you don’t get lost! Place is beautiful!!! You are truly in the woods and it’s hard to believe you are right on long island . Check for ticks as always in woods! Parking is free even better! Happy trails Kerri
