Southford Falls State Park

This lovely, mellow park seems to be overlooked, as I've been here a couple of times and it hasn't been busy either time. It has hiking trails, waterfalls, a beautiful covered bridge, picnic tables, and a small lake. This isn't the biggest or the grandest park in the state, but it's a calm space to hang out, go for a walk, or have a picnic.

Olde Sawmill Snackbar and Miniature Golf

Reviewed By TravelNad - Southbury, United States

This is a fun mini golf course. Some playful and skilled engineering went into creating a challenging enough course for the whole family to enjoy. We've been to a number of mini golf courses in different states, and this is in the top 5. This place is beautiful, and the food is "good enough". They have enough choices -- burgers, fries, fish basket, shrimp basket (mostly fried stuff, come to think of it) on the menu for just about everyone. Think of it as the perfect mini golf snack bar, not a dinner destination. This is not homemade ice cream, but good. Nothing like enjoying a snack and/or ice cream on the outdoor patio to extend the afterglow of a fun mini golf game. I recommend calling first, unless you're in the area and passing by anyways. We have driven there to play, and found the place closed during their posted business hours.

One of the best beer selections this side of Two Roads. Nice setting as well. Pizza and pretzels available. If you are a beer fan don’t miss this brewery.
