We went to both the store in Cooperstown and the factory in Hartwick. Both experiences were enjoyable and made more so by our tour guide, Kyle, at the bat factory and our salesman, Kyle 2.0 (LOL), in the town. We really enjoyed seeing the bats be made one at a time. The programmable lathe was interesting but even more interesting was Kyle's ability to take the bat from the lathe and finish it for painting with practiced pro moves in a just a few seconds. He walked us through the process and answered our many questions with great interpersonal skills and a wonderful sense of humor. There are no 'set' tour times ... just show up but avoid lunch hour.

Ok you can feed the crazy ducks on site but there’s much more to do. Nice laid out store for social distancing and they still give out free samples of wine and cider (max group of 4 at a time). You can pay $3 to sample the moonshine if you want. We bought a cider and some wine. Sizeable location with plenty to choose from and ice cream outside as well. Parking lot across the street.

This 9,000-seat ballpark, owned by the Village of Cooperstown itself and located near the Baseball Hall of Fame, commemorates the reputed "birthplace of baseball."
The Abner Doubleday Field complex has an interesting early history and the stadium you see today saw it's 1st game in May of 1939. Just sitting in the covered backstop of the empty stadium you can envision all the players and fans from the different era's that graced this field. This place reminds you that baseball is a relatively simple game in the purest of terms and it's a shame how money and other documented things have stained the game a little. It is funny to think of the buildings that were sold to make extra room for the property, yet the houses right past the left field 296' marker that must get hit quite often. The property's behind the 360' right center wall as well as the 312' right field pole must also be under constant bombbardment. The last time we were in town in 1999, our family really enjoyed watching a game here. Baseball is truely "America's Pastime".

My wife and I stopped in to learn about the local distillery and their products. The people we interacted with were very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. We were there to learn and taste a few samples. The product is top quality and you can taste the difference from the big brands that you find in liquor stores. If your in town for any event take the time to find this gem.

Great place to purchase local ... fun gifts, beautiful leather selection (thanks for recommending the travel bag for which I've been searching for several years!). The staff are very knowledgeable and very friendly. Fun place to browse for a thank you gift or just a surprise for yourself. Will be stopping by every time we are in Cooperstown.

We come up for the Glimmerglass Festival every year and stop by the Cooperstown Farmers' Market Saturday morning. We are fortunate to have a small refrigerator in our hotel room to store the wonderful, inexpensive (compared to where I live) produce we purchase at the market. Gorgeous beets ($2/bunch), huge heads of cauliflower ($3), heirloom tomatoes, lettuce mixes, etc. Always an extensive selection of vendors and products. Lots of delicious jams and preserves to bring home as gifts. Bring a big market bag to bring home all your delicious finds. The market is open Saturdays and Tuesdays. Easy to find right off Main Street.

This bar/shop is a second tasting room for the Cooperstown Distillery. Their spirits are excellent, but since we had already been to the distillery itself, we just came for cocktails. The cocktails are imaginative without the cutesy names sometimes dreamed up in bars. Everything was wonderful. There are high table, couches and comfy chairs to relax in with your beverage. In addition to their own spirits, they also sell New York state merchandise including wines, beers and ciders. We took advantage of this one-stop shopping. The staff was very pleasant. Parking could be an issue during busier times.

Local. Handcrafted. Fresh. Red Shed Brewery is a craft farm brewery brewing using local NY hops and grains. Join us for 20 craft beers on draft, live music and other events. Beer garden open in summer months.
When visiting Cooperstown, check this place out! A lot smaller than its more famous neighbor, Ommegang, it is quaint and casual with some delicious beers to try. They recently added a food truck that had some very delicious options (try the pretzel and the burgers). They also had a small area for the kids to run around and plenty of seating for all.
