The Duke of Wellington

We stumbled on this absolutely stunning pub in the Heritage quarter while out strolling one evening. Inside, a beautifully refurbished setting and a great choice of familiar English ales. Pure nostalgia for the tastebuds of those who have enjoyed pub life in the UK. And a quiet nook upstairs while we supped and admired the decor.

Minus 5° ICE BAR

Be absorbed into a world crafted purely of ICE architecture! Everything from the walls and furniture, to the bar and intricately hand carved statues are all made from crystal clear ICE. Even our infamous cocktails are served in glasses made entirely out of ICE! Dress up like an eskimo and explore over 18 tonnes of ice in -5 degrees and colder. A family experience you will never forget, a pre dinner chilly cocktail, or a 'cool' start to a lively night on the town. Can you handle the THRILL OF THE CHILL?

Vulcan Hotel loved our time there

Reviewed By Fleischl - Auckland, New Zealand

I have stayed at The Vulcan a couple of times already this year. The new management are fantastic! There has been a few changes to the interior, the menu and the team which have really made a big difference. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean. I have had no encounters with any ghosts and I have stayed here alone. The walks around the area are beautiful and the Blue Lake across the road is well worth visiting. You can see why artists are compelled to paint! I highly recommend a trip to Saint Bathan
