Osoyoos (/ɒˈsuːjuːs/, historically /ˈsuːjuːs/) is the southern-most town in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia between Penticton and Omak. Near the border with Washington state, the town is also adjacent to the Indian Reserve of the Osoyoos Indian Band. The origin of the name Osoyoos was the word sẁiẁs (pronounced "soo-yoos") meaning "narrowing of the waters" in the local Okanagan language (Syilx'tsn). The "O-" prefix is not indigenous in origin and was attached by settler-promoters wanting to harmonize the name with other place names beginning with O in the Okanagan Country (Oliver, Omak, Oroville, Okanogan). There is one local newspaper, the Osoyoos Times.

At Heatstroke Cycle we sell, rent and service bicycles because cycling is what we love and we want to share our passion with you! Heatstroke Cycle was born out of a desire to give Osoyoos and the surrounding area a definitive Bike Shop that riders could rely on and trust for all their cycling needs throughout the year. Heatstroke Cycle is owned and operated by Richard Cooper a local Osoyoos rider who was born and raised in the idyllic lakefront community. After managing bike shops in Vancouver and the South Okanagan Richard decided that it was time for his dream to come true and began Heatstroke Cycle. Now partnered with Devinci and Electra Bicycles, Heatstroke Cycle focus is to bring performance bikes and quality service to blazing hot Osoyoos.

As everyone else has been saying, Sherry and Dave are special people and offer an amazing experience. The ride itself was first rate, and it felt like we were experience a live action western movie as we rode through the sagebrush foothills above the lake. My favorite part of the ride happened before it even started when Sherry was introducing us to the horses and sharing each horse's story of how it was rescued. It made the time we spent with our horse that much more meaningful. Regardless of where each one came from, it is obvious that they are now well cared for and living their best lives. Thank you Sherry and Dave for everything you are doing!

I play golf mainly in Canada, Mexico, and Jamaica and I believe this is the most fun and enjoyable golf course I have ever played. Definitely tight and Challenging fairways, always rewarded by keeping the ball staight. The staff are so accommodating and friendly and I also love having a beer and hot dog out on the deck. Great value, keep up the good work.

Two 18 Hole championship courses, each offering its own unique golfing experience.
Easily one of the nicest maintained courses in our entire area and so nicely set with a great backdrop too and even though it rained so hard yesterday and we had to quit at 13 cause it got cold and windy...I was playing course so well and playing to its nice challenge level. One of only 5 of 5 stars for any Okanagan golf clubs and the older gent in pro shop was engaging and just fun and friendly: yesterday pm, Sat, June 9th. Thanks! Oh and was very affordable too!

Hiking up Kruger Mountain, there are stunning views of the Okanagan valley, both north and south. The hike becomes a little steep in places but the views are well worth the effort.

My Wife and I hung out on this beach while visiting Osoyoos and really had a blast. The water was warm and it was busy. There are bathrooms as well as a snack shack the serves a little bit of everything. We really like this place. There is also a Boston Pizza on this beach.
