This unique park is located in both Minnesota and Wisconsin and offers camping, hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and rock climbing.
This was a great afternoon trip with teenagers. Very interesting and lots of climbing, up very well marked paths and steps. Hand rails for safety and help up and down the stone steps. Pot holes were fascinating.

It has the element of surprise. The sculpture does not cease to amaze you. The setting is rustic. We missed interaction with the sculptors, but there are, I am told sessions where one can meet the sculptors. The park is open from dawn to dusk and is free.

The rocky gorge is very scenic and I enjoy the area but it is worth noting that the cliffs don't go very far. If you take the boat ride you will notice how the cliffs disappear quickly and give way to flat forest and grass, then there is another small dalles just south of there and not much else. It reminds me of Wisconsin Dells. It's a nice area but you shouldn't expect it to rival some of the more scenic places in Minnesota like the North Shore or Lake Pepin. It's also very dangerous.

I took my four grandchildren (22,10,10 and 8) midday on a Friday in August. And I harnessed up too--I'm >70. Our group orientation was with 3 others and overall the course was big enough to not feel crowded or rushed. The experience was a blast!...MoreThis is fantastic! Appreciate you taking the time to outline your experience. It could definitely answer a lot of questions new adventurers might have. Thanks for coming out! Skol!

A few years ago we visited Taylors Falls and hoped to do the Scenic Boat Tour. At the time, the government was in 'shutdown mode' and since the Corps of Engineers manages the river activity, no boat tours were running. So with the beautiful fall weather, we decided to try again. We booked our tickets online which was a smooth process. The day could not have been more perfect. The temp was in the high 60s to low 70s with a slight breeze. The river was higher than usual so we boarded the paddle wheel in the Interstate Park area which provided us an opportunity to see that beautiful area as well since we arrived 30 minutes or so before the tour. Even though it was mid-October, the foliage was very colorful. Ryan was an excellent captain providing us with a very smooth ride. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave some interesting facts about the region. I also liked that he didn't talk the entire time, only when he had specific landmarks to point out. A ver relaxing, beautiful day to be on The Princess and in Taylors Falls.

My wife and I visited the Falls during our last morning in Osceola. They are impressive. There is also a short, but extremely well maintained, trail along the creek at the base of the Falls. There is also a brochure available there with information about other short trails around town.

Pick your own apples or buy them in the shop. Hay rides, gift shop, pumpkins. A great fun outing without the overwhelming crowds in some of the orchards closer to the Twin Cities. They also sell homemade apple pies to bake at home; scones and turnovers, jams and lots of varieties of fresh apples. Try Sweet Tango or Honeycrisp apples if you like your apples sweet, Haralson if you prefer tart flavors.

Great scenery and fantastic food about sums up this late afternoon excursion. Excellent service makes you feel like you stepped back in time. I would recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy this type experience.
