Standing on Hill 262 looking across the Falaise lowlands makes the atmosphere of this museum an unforgettable tribute to all who died in this dreadful battle, whatever their nationality. The madness of warfare, and we never learn.

The Pin National Stud -often known as the "Versailles of the Horse" - was built on the orders of Louis XIV in a verdant setting covering more than 1000 hectares (2500 acres). Here you can walk through the heart of buildings dating from the 18th century, including stables that house different breeds of horse, the saddlery of honour, and some exceptional horse-drawn carriages. Your visit continues on a route which allows you to explore stable no. 1, where you get to know more about the world of the horse and the Pin National Stud. The chateau, built at the beginning of the 18th century, houses some superb 17th century tapestries as well as animal paintings in its rooms. Come and watch the amazing shows of horses and carriages held at 3.00 pm every Thursday between June and September, on Le Pin Thursdays. An artistic equestrian show also takes place in the stud riding arena, each weekend from April to October 2020 at 3.00 pm.
