Who we are…Alpacas at Marquam Hill Ranch is an 18 acre ranch in Molalla, Oregon. We are directly in between Molalla and Silverton. We have 80+ Huacaya alpacas. We breed our animals for the fineness of their fiber, with a soft handle and good density. Our goal is to create a long term fineness in all animals that mimics the feel of cashmere or better. Presently more than half our herd is under 21 micron. We have white as well as a variety of other colors of alpacas. There are 22 natural colors of alpacas as defined by the Alpaca Registry. Bill is an AOBA Certified Fleece and Performance Judge. His education helps in the purchases and breeding of our alpacas. In the future we will be holding seminars on fleece evaluations, breeding selection, business plan write ups and fiber arts. If there is a topic you’d like to learn about, we’ll find the instructor and create the class. Or you can just stop by and we would be happy to answer your questions. We have a large fleece room dedicated for presentations and a ranch store for a quick pick up gift for yourself or someone special. Our herd consists of eight studs we either fully own or own in partnership. They are Snowmass Trilogy, Ezekial's Challenger of Marquam Hill, Crescent Moon’s Ezekial, Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Elizario, Accoyo America Kodiak, Nirvana of AMHR, Denver of AMHR and Emerald Cloud's Javelin. We love to talk about these amazing animals. Whether it is a question on how to get started, breeding questions, animal husbandry, the investment aspects (Bill is a retired CPA) or anything else that you might be interested in, please feel free to stop by, give us a call or drop us an email. We look forward to hearing from you!
Had a great time at the alpaca farm. The staff was very inviting and knowledgeable about the alpacas. The alpacas are cute and friendly. They even gave us recommendations on other places to visit and provided us a map.

Very beautiful garden area/pathway to see. There are goats and you can feed them for $1.00! Cute and quaint with a nice selection of produce to buy at a reasonable price.

Dragon's Gate is an authentic farmhouse brewery located on a 10 acre farm in the heart of the Walla Walla wine country. We handcraft Belgian style ales using the finest ingredients and estate grown hops.
Lovely people and lovely place to enjoy a picnic and view. Interesting brews and some local cheeses for sale... bring your own crackers

From friendly, knowledgeable staff to great local farm fresh vegetables, and absolutely wonderful hard ciders this is a great place. You can buy just about any plant or tree in their nursery. Inside they offer a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, popcorns, and gifts. All that being said, this was a cider run! If you like to try or buy different ciders Baumans has you covered. The strawberry mojito cider was definitely a favorite. If you like different tastes try the vanilla bourbon cider. I'm not sure how many they truly carry but I'm sure it's at least an easy dozen. The bottles are $8 each and you can buy growlers too. Or if you like you can get a glass or a tray of samples. Anyway small batch and delicious!

The English Lavender Farm is set on a gently sloping hillside and surrounded with a 360 degree backdrop of forested, snow-capped mountains. We have planted 10 varieties of English lavender and 2 varieties of French. The neat rows of lavender are stunning when in full bloom and are well worth a visit at the peak of the season.
We absolutely loved this Lavender Farm. A short country drive from Jacksonville and worth every minute. Very Nice looking tall flags line the front of the road to help you locate the farm. Once you are on the quaint lavender lined road you will cross an adorable wooden bridge to the property. Plenty of spaced out parking. Beautiful rows of lavender against the hillside where you might see the heads of guests picking their own bunches or catch an artist creating landscapes on canvas. The owner’s Derek and Sue Owen have a greet and meet persona and it was a delight to chat with them and watch how they interact with all their guests. Absolutely wonderful and friendly. Very nicely decorated outside patio where you are allowed to bring your own packed lunch. We opted to purchase a lemonade and icecream and enjoy the ambience of butterflies, bees and ladybugs with the backdrop of lavender fields. Plenty of English or French Lavender for purchase, cute and well stocked store for any favorite lavender product. Oh and don’t forget to ask Cooper, the Golden Retriever to sign his very own book.

We live in the area and consume large amounts of fruit. We have been to all the fruit stands in the valley and this is our favorite by a wide margin. Located a bit off the main highway #35 but worth the ten minute drive. Huge selection of fresh apples and pears. New product brought out of their storage every day. We were there two weeks ago and there were ten varieties of pears and 40 varieties of apples. The stand continues into the winter as long as they have quality fruit to sell. During the week in the winters it operates on the honor system. Just finished eating a monster Jonagold apple. Crisp. Sweet. Juice running down my arm. We will head over to the stand this weekend. Do not miss this one.
