Opole Voivodeship, or Opole Province (Polish: województwo opolskie [vɔjɛˈvutstfɔ ɔˈpɔlskʲɛ], German: Woiwodschaft Oppeln), is the smallest and least populated voivodeship (province) of Poland. The province's name derives from that of the region's capital and largest city, Opole. It is part of Upper Silesia. A relatively large German minority lives in the voivodeship, with representatives in the Sejm.

Museum of Polish Monarchs from The Piast Dynasty in Silesia.
The Castle of the Silesian Piasts is special in two ways: the castle itself with its lovely Renaissance gate and the museum it houses. By all means it is a must-visit place!

We were staying in Opole and the museum is reasonably close. As other reviewers have said Sebastian is the man to see, his knowledge is huge and he is generous with it. The museum covers a very wide area. From the main museum which has very informative displays and conveys a real picture of the life (and death) there, you can visit by car or bike many of the areas and cemetery. There is also an old airfield complete with control towers. All in all highly recommended.

We went off season so could only view the outside of these old Polish buildings. Interesting to see. In season you can go inside them and learn more about rural life.

The drive to the village from Krakow is a little long but truly worth it. The painting is so fine and well done. If ever in Poland and in the region of this village take the time to visit. You will be one of a few outsiders/tourists to do so.

Huge castle that looks like something from Disney movies. You can spent a night there or just take a tour.
