Tough hike to reach the top (lookout point), but well worth the views. The Crack - hike starts off easy, then climbing the rocks gets tougher and the final section reaching the crack needs bit more effort. Its easily doable, just need sturdy shoes (preferably hiking shoes) and ensuring good balance when climbing rocks. Took us 3 hours for full round trip - getting to lookout 1:30 hr (40 mins was for the last section of rocks), 30 mins for enjoying the views and then 50 mins on the return. Worth trying as the views are beautiful and would be especially during fall. Another trail - right across from the Crack is the Granite Ridge Trail - easier, with great views, good during sunset Granite Ridge trail - 1 hr for round trip - good for sunset views and has 2 lookout spots.

Lookout offering a beautiful view of the city and a commemorative statue of Canada's founder, Samuel de Champlain.
I was directed to Napean Point by the people working in the tourist information centre across the street from the Parliament buildings. I was quite disappointed to see that the front of the Parliament was heavily obstructed by construction equipment that will be part of a 10 to15 year upgrade to the structure. Happily, the back of Parliament was still reasonably unobstructed at the time I visited the city and Napean Point was a great place to see it from. Beyond the view of Parliament, the entire panorama of the Ottawa River with Ottawa on one side and Gatineau on the other is quite something to take in from this vantage point. Definitely reccommended!

These trails are pretty easy, and a great place to run the kids or the dog. They are well marked, and the views along the way are amazing!

This is an amazing spot - it has a great view of Huntsville & the lake. We were glad that we didn’t miss the opportunity to drive up to the top to this lookout

I go here quite often with my spouse, young ones, the dog, etc. It has a great Lookout tower with plaques telling you what is in each direction. There are stairs taking you up the hill, then stairs up the Lookout as well. There are also three trails on the location & I think two benches. Very great local spot, love going here.

Went for a 2 Night Trip out to Maggie Lake to relax. The Distance is close enough for newer hikers, and also close that you can carry extra gear and amenities to enjoy your nights here. When the weather is clear and cool, the walk in is very easy. Start with some frozen bottles of water when you get in, that way you have a cool drink during your first day. Snacks and lunch is a must. Wraps or bread are a good choice. During August, the water is still cool enough to swim, so bring some swim wear, beware of the leeches though, so stay moving when you are in the water!
