This great building is used for many. Conventions, other business gathers, and weddings use some of the lovely rooms. This spring and summer since the virus this building was used as a place for homeless people, but other places are used for the homeless now

The building is very beautiful and has peaceful ambience and surroundings. It was a worth it visit and was very educational with the tour guide explaining in detail the history of Islam and especially the Ismailis (followers of the hereditary Imam, decedent from Prophet Mohammad, PBUH, His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan), The inner court and prayer house is very serene and has a beautiful vista of Toronto from the roof top. While there, visited the Aga Khan Museum, another worth it visit. Smooth check in at front reception desk and the area well planned with very friendly staff. The permanent exhibition downstairs is amazing and gives you an insight into Medieval history of Islam. Very well preserved artifacts to show the glory of that time period. I was lucky to see Caravans of Gold, Fragments in Time exhibition, which opened my eyes to the fact, that Africa was not the DARK Continent the Europeans had been calling it during the medieval times and later.

It was the first time we experienced an event at the Burlington Convention Centre. We bought tickets for the New Years Eve 2000 Dinner & Dancing Party. We celebrated New Years Eve 2020 with friends and other couples. The food buffet was excellent. The roast beef carving station was terrific; the roast beef, potatoes and vegetables were excellent. Also the salads were delicious. The dessert buffet was also excellent. The mango cake, creme brûlée and fruit platter was delicious; others at our table had other desserts and said they were very good. The music for all the decades with pictures of the musical artists on the big screen was cool! It was a flash-back to the 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s and music in the 2000’s and present. The champagne and count-down to the New Year 2020 was fun. Everyone was on the dance floor and the balloons were falling from the ceiling. Great event!
