We loved our private day tour of Besalu and Girona with Gerard. There are 10 of us, 4 adults and 6 children, ages ranging from 5 to 14. Arranging the tour was easy, communication with BCN Hidden Tours was fast and clear. Gerard helped us decide on a tour that was just right for us. On the day of the tour, Gerard picked us up from our apartment in Barcelona in a comfortable minibus (with a driver). Gerard shared interesting historical tidbits about Barcelona, Girona and Catalonia in general during the drive. Gerard made Besalu and Girona come alive for us - he knows those towns so well! He accommodated our interests and remained flexible with the kids' needs. Gerard is incredibly knowledgeable, speaks 7 languages fluently (his English is perfect!), and clearly loves what he does. He is easy to connect with, both for adults and kids. Overall, just an incredible experience. I very enthusiastically recommend Gerard and BCN Hidden Tours.

This was the highlight of our family trip in Catalonia, and a great surprise. The day starts with watching the preparations and the balloons being inflated, while drinking coffee and having some snacks. Riding the balloon for almost two hours was amazing, the views were stunning, and Xevi our pilot and guide provided very interesting information on the landscape and gladly answered any question on both landmarks and balloon operation. During the trip we had some champagne and a cake. After the balloon ride we expected a light breakfast, but were surprised that the experience developed into a Catalan feast. With delicious Catalan dishes, and a lot of wine. Xevi was sitting with us, explaining more on the food, the local culture, and a lot more, and just having fun with the extended group. The gift shop is very nice, and the staff was not pushy around it. All in all this is a full experience, with the balloon ride obviously being the highlight. All family members ranked it the #1 activity of the trip!

We started with the wine tour. It was very much focused on how this winery, Albet i Noya, has chosen to make their wine. From the ecological practices to the science of how to avoid losing crops to fungi, it was all interesting and informative. They could really be on to some exciting innovations! The wine is wonderful. We got to try their sparking wine, which just won top prize. After drinking our last glass and enjoying our snacks, we went on the hike. It's a really nice loop - not difficult at all but refreshing . The vews were lovely of the vinyards, hills, trees, and mountains. Overall, well worth the time and money. Buen provecho!
