September 13, 2021 Veronika Gaddis

Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital city, renowned for its heritage, culture and festivals. Take a long walk around the centre to explore the World Heritage Sites of the Old Town and New Town, as well as all the area’s museums and galleries. Then stop for a delicious meal made from fresh Scottish produce before heading out to take in one of Edinburgh’s many events — including the famous summer festivals of culture, or the Winter Festivals of music, light and ceilidhs.

I used this location to deliver an IT based training day, two separate session one AM and one PM. The staff were superb in making sure all our specific IT requirements were in place they did this without question and tested browser access to ensure smooth connectivity for all the learners. An impromptu visit by me the day before the delivery was scheduled was met with very very helpful staff who could not have done enough for me. On the delivery day the staff were very helpful in directing the learner to the classroom, refreshments were perfect and replenished on request. The facility was perfect as were the staff, I cant rate this whole experience highly enough.

Walked in to enquire about some tours and were very skilfully helped by a lovely lady (Nadira I believe) who assisted us in sorting out some very nice trips. I can all be done on line, but it is so much nicer to interact with real people.

Most of the ?15 floors are below the street entry. Good cafe and fun shop with tables and chairs. Across the hall are small exhibition rooms always interesting.

The Hub

The first building you notice when walking down the Royal Mile is this narrow towering building. It is now called the Hub, a conference venue. It is the home of the Edinburgh International Festival. It is a mix of modern design and victorian architecture. Its spire dominates central Edinburgh. It was previously used as a church and general Assembly Hall for the church of Scotland.
