Loved it! Had a lot of fun with our kids (young adults). The course is clean and well kept and the staff is very friendly. Lots of people on the course but no one rushed you and strangers clapped for you if you hit a nice shot ????

While camping near by, we ordered lobsters and mussels. Call ahead and place your order. Lobsters will be steamed and ready when you specified. The lobsters were awesome! Will definitely be back next summer!

Old Orchard Beach

My friends and I take the Downeaster train from North Station, Boston,Ma. To Old Orchard Beach, Maine at least 3 + times a year, it’s only a 2 hour train ride and it only takes less than 5 minutes to the beach. There’s also plenty of parking and parking lots are cheap to park at for the day. If you go after Labor Day of course everything closes down. The beach is white sand, no rocks, the water is very cold but refreshing and you can walk for miles! The bathrooms are very clean, that’s why you pay .50 to use them, the bathroom where the rides are free but the floor is always wet. Pay the .50 and change in the clean big bathroom! There’s lots of places to eat, the boardwalk, also shops and rides and games to play and a large arcade. Sorry for some negatives answers but I guess your not a “kid at heart” to have some fun!!’ It has a fairly large amusement park, been there for years as my parents always brought us up there and I still go. In the evening it can get chilly!

Old Orchard Beach Pier

Reviewed By NHjo - Saco, United States

Old Orchard Pier dates back to 1898 when it was built as a steel pier and was the longest steel pier in the world. It was partially destroyed by a storm, then rebuilt ten years later and again destroyed by the Blizzard of 1978. The present wooden version was built in 1980 and stretches 500 feet into the ocean. It has souvenir shops, restaurants, bars, and a nightclub. It's an iconic piece of architecture and very popular. Too bad it has such a short season.

I stopped in not expecting anything more then my typical candyshop stop for beach vacation fudge. Right from the walk in i knew this place was different. The fudge was home made and incredible. There was a special but 1 pound get a 1/4 free which was great. Got my family a great variety and all of it was a handsdown hit. The real gem though was the homemade carmel popcorn. I couldn't help but eat the whole container that night. I waited until the last night to go get a couple to bring home (2 hour drive with no traffic) i ended up making the decision to go back to this beach 2 weeks later where id normally just go to the one an hour away specifically for this caramel popcorn. Id say its a must try. Outside of the foods great quality the owners and their staff are very friendly. I found a gem and strongly suggest anyone visiting old orchard make their way to this spot. Its in the center of all the hussle and bustle. Easy location to find and most definitely will exceed your previous beach candyshop experiences.
