With hundreds of man-made lakes, state parks, casinos, museums and nightlife and dining opportunities in revitalized downtown areas in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, there is a lot to see and do in the Sooner State. The state is dotted with phenomenal lakes where swimming, boating and bass fishing are the most desired activities. Some of the state’s most popular lakes include Broken Bow Lake located near the Quachita Mountains; Grand Lake in the northeastern corner of the state at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and Lake Murray in the hills in the southern part of the state.
While the state is known for its many outdoor activities like great fishing, golf, hiking, canoeing and boating, make sure you don’t overlook its fantastic museums. Heading the list are Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, featuring the world’s largest collection of art and artifacts from the American West; the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, which tells the story of the American Cowboy; and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, which has a permanent collection of American and European art. A venerable family favorite activity is Frontier City Amusement Park in Oklahoma City, which has dozens of rides and shows.

I was here while no event was taking place, so it was a nice open green space while a wandered around. It is a nice area right in the middle of the art and dining district. I could see in warmer weather how this would be the area's primary hang out spot.

This year our small group of 11 chose Hog Wild for our annual hunting trip. We booked several months ago and secured the facilities for 2 days and 2 nights. Having done a considerable amount of hunting around the country, I have hunted in some pretty "interesting" conditions and stayed in some inhospitable environments. I have dealt with dodgy communications and half-witted guides, false promises and unrealistic expectations. Rest assured, this company was absolutely none of those things. The accommodations were great, the price was extremely affordable, and the service was way above board based upon my experiences. They were responsive to questions ahead of time. Numerous messages were exchanged and all communication was prompt and concise. On the day we arrived we traveled down a long red clay driveway which had weathered from the onslaught of rain experienced in the area. We encounted a large steel gate and went inside the lodge. It was huge. Private (double) bedrooms, large dining area, sitting areas with nice TVs, several bathrooms and climate control. I felt like I was dreaming. I had never encountered a lodge so nice, especially on a hog hunt. We were greated by Kaden, our guide for this adventure. He was polite, but busy taking care of the group that had just ended their hunt. He said he would get with us in a minute to go over everything. After visiting with the departing guests, I was pleased to hear their stories about their hunt and the great experience they had. When they left, Kaden went over everything in great detail. We settled in and slept comfortably in our beds. We awoke the next morning in anticipation and excitement for our morning hunt. A new guide, Rowdy, showed up to usher us to and fro. Upon getting to the blind, Rowdy attended to the feeder and made sure we were set. Within 15 minutes, we were surrounded by hogs. Several large hogs stayed back and no shot was taken. But we were off to a great start. Spot and stalk for the daytime and early afternoon was a treat and I saw all kinds of exotics and a ton of whitetail deer. That night, the boomsticks rang out across the landscape as our group laid down some piggies. By day 2 before lunch, everyone in my group had tagged out. A total of 15 pigs. Kaden and Rowdy worked their butts off to usher us, guide us, butcher the hogs, and ensure our needs were met. Kaden even joined us for a card game after our first full day of hunting. All in all, it was an amazing time with great friends and I believe that we made a few new ones. We will most definitely go back. Thank you for making our annual trip a lifetime memory.

After delivering Doordash to a driver, I found out about Port City Raceway. I called my son (13 years old) and asked if he wanted to check it out. I had no idea the place existed and we don't know jack about cars, just NASCAR. The place was amazing, the people were awesome and incredibly helpful and we had a great time. It turns out a friend of my son's races there so we will definitely be back. The race ran late and we left around midnight and still had a great time. We actually were seated next to a 10 year old whose step-dad raced and he explained everything to us. Great time & we'll be back - one highlight was the kids telling jokes. They were clever and I'd only heard one before. Loud and fun, great family time but the kids need to be "older"...10-ish. Oh, and they have a great bar and solid food. Did I mention cheap?

My family had a great time. On the rafting adventure, the guide made the ride fit our level of adventure on every ride. They were very personable. We also enjoyed the ropes course and the zip line across the river. It was a very enjoyable day.

Just did the 13 mile float at Falcon today. Showed up during a rush of college kids and got three plastic kayaks. Not 10 minutes after signing the form and paying we were on the road up stream to the launch site. The two guys unloading for us looked very tired but were as friendly as could be. Kayak was a simple molded hollow form but had a very useful backrest built in. Having the done the route many years ago with a canoe I could remember how the back took a toll after many hours paddling. We left at 10:30am and got back at 5:30pm. They were easy to maneuver through tight spots that rafts had trouble. Most of the rafts were full of drunk college kids, so if that's your thing you can find it. The river was mostly peaceful and relaxing, a few places needed to paddle through calm water, and one spot had the obligatory loud, obnoxious music we had to endure from a raft. I really enjoyed the day and had no problems with Falcon Floats. I think most of the outfitters on the river try their best, and there will always be issues arise. I would recommend Falcon and will return.
