In addition to watching Kyogen, you will learn the historical background of Korakuen and Kyogen. After the performance, you can go up on the Noh stage, which is not usually open to the public. This experience is offered in Japanese, with readings in Japanese and English, making it a great experience for a wide variety of people. Kyogen is said to come from the same source as Noh, also a traditional Japanese art form. While Noh is based on myths and historical stories and mainly consists of dance, Kyogen is a comedic performance of stories from daily life. It does not use any large-scale stage set but expresses everything with words and gestures. Kyogen is characterized by its ability to take ordinary people's daily lives and folk tales and turn them into a "joke" by highlighting human habits and natures.
Inclusions: Kyogen Viewing Fee
Exclusions: Admission fee for Korakuen Garden (410 yen)

Had read about the launch of this special train just before I visited and couldn't resist. As it turns out neither could a heap of locals and think I was just about the only foreigner on a packed trip. If you have a multi-travel JR Rail pass can be used on this train (which I did) and it can pay to book a seat. If you haven't don't cue for carriage one because this is the photo-op and souvenirs (most of which is only available on the train) carriage and there is no seating. Carriage two is totally decked out but further back not so much. Something a little different and just went for afternoon trip on this train and then came home of a normal one
