We have visited 3 Balkan countries, and Ohrid was one of the highlights of our trip. Its much more prettier than on the photos, and wster is perfectly clear. Tour did meet our expectations, and to daul away without the guide it would be pretty but much less interesting. Our guide bob was easy going polite and interesting and he made our day. Hope to come back here with my family and stay longer, and for sure i will contact Balkan experience again.. They are very professional.

Ohrid is a city in the southwestern part of North Macedonia, on the northeast coast of Ohrid Lake. Ohrid and Lake Ohrid are one of the main tourist destinations in North Macedonia. Due to the large number of churches and monasteries, the city of Ohrid is known as Balkan and European Jerusalem. It is also known as the “City of Light”, a literal translation of its old name, Lychnidos. The Ohrid region is included in the UNESCO World Heritage. According to one legend, written by the Miladinov Brothers, when the Ohrid fortress was made, Emperor Justinian climbed the hills on which the city lies, and, looking at the beautiful surroundings, exclaimed “oh-hill”, which means, a beautiful hill. Since then, the city is called Ohrid. Modern Ohrid is the heir of the ancient Lychnidos. According to the data, the city was first mentioned 2,400 years before the new era. Lihnidos was on the Via Egnatia road, the oldest and most significant Roman traffic route in the Balkans.

I can't thank our tour guide Adam enough for giving us a fun filled day from start to finish. If you are lucky enough to get him as your tour guide you will agree with me that he is one interesting man on this planet! He went above and beyond, even making additional pit stops. He showed us so much in one day that would of easily taken us two to three days to do. The tour exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to do future day trips in other countries/cities with Albanian Express Travel and Adam!

A tour that will take you to one of the most interesting destinations of Balkans Ohrid town, This town is North Macedonia's most seductive destination. It sits on the edge of serene Lake Ohrid, with an atmospheric old quarter that cascades down steep streets, dotted with beautiful churches and topped by the bones of a medieval castle. Famous for its lake and architecture. At the same time you will visit Lin, a small peninsula softly joins the shores of Lake Ohrid. It was once called “Lake of Light” perhaps because the light of both the sun and the moon wholly illuminate its surface year-round. Indeed, this lake’s reflections are legendary! Hundreds of locals reside in this small but beautiful peninsula. As you descend the road to get there, you will notice the beautiful red roofs of its characteristic small homes. Riding ATV through whole national park Galicica is truly a spectacular experience that you will never forget. The beginning of the tour is gaining 300 m on asphalt road that leads to the village of Velestovo. As we leave the village the asphalt turns in rocky road uphill until we reach the Krstec peak 1600 m.a.s.l. Then the ride turns into a real dancing through the highlands of Asandjura. Once we reach the Asandjura hut we will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch together. After the break we pass under Tomoros peak and the forgotten ski lifts until we hit the asphalt again. On this point we will be blessed with spectacular views of Prespa Lake and moments later a bird's eye view of Lake Ohrid and Albania in the background. While moving down we leave the National park and continue riding by the lake to the starting point in Ohrid. This tour covers approx. 70 km in a loop without backtracking, offering you the chance to see variety of Mother Nature’s masterpieces.
