The city was named after fearless fur-trader and adventurer, Peter Skene Ogden, who explored the untamed area in the 1820s. Since then, Ogden has seen poverty and prosperity, conflict and celebration. Today, although a more subdued and modern place, the city is still big on action and adventure the whole family can enjoy. Take the kids to ogle the more than 100 life-size replicas of pre-historic creatures at the Ogden Dinosaur Park and Museum. Or head to the Tree House Museum, one of the best of its kind in the U.S. Adults will find plenty to enjoy on local golf courses or hiking trails in the summer, and everyone will love the local winter ski resorts. A grand old depot, Union Station is a must see for history buffs and anyone interested in trains and railroads. Be sure to stroll along 25th Street downtown. This historic block was the center of activity in the early 20th-century and is home to many restored buildings from the railroad era. The street also boasts an eclectic mix of restaurants, one-of-a kind shops, antique stores and art galleries.

I love this place! There are always so many new unique items in the store and the craftsmanship is excellent. I love the holiday decor they offer. Everyone is very warm and inviting. I like that they offer so many different classes. The teachers are patient and kind. They have an art stroll the first Friday of every month, and you get to meet several different artists and there is usually entertainment. If you’re looking for handmade AWESOME items this is the place.

Hill Aerospace Museum is located on approximately 30 acres of the northwest corner of Hill Air Force Base, five miles south of Ogden, Utah. The Museum, which opened in 1986, was founded in 1981 as a part of the United States Air Force Heritage Program. The Utah Museum hosted its five millionth visitor in the fall of 2019. Today was our first ever visit to this museum and we were absolutely thankful we found it!! The displays of military planes were wonderful and informative. The volunteers were great with some wonderful historical knowledge of facts about the military planes in the museum. The gift shop had a wonderful variety of items to purchase from toy planes to clothing. Highly recommend this place for families and aviation fans, especially when you’re able to enjoy everything at no cost!!!

Can’t miss in the downtown area! There are a lot of cool shops. I like Lavender Vinyl, Endless Indulgence, and Two Bit Street for food. If you have mobility issues, the parking for handicap spots can fill up and not all buisiness are built equally if you require some accommodations.

At some point, the sound of the waterfalls hits you and though it’s mostly uphill from there, it’s worth the sweat! Enjoy!

There is a trail you can walk on that goes around the pond. Ducks love to gather there so it's an opportunity to see and watch the ducks. You can bring your dog or your family to walk with you, just remember to share the trail with others. Above the pond is an area and a playground for kids to play and a great place to have a picnic. A few weeks ago I was at the pond with my mom and we saw a deer! It's just a wonderful place to have a walk and to get out to enjoy nature!

This is a great country western store with lots of modern hardware supplies too. It has hold-over army surplus items in addition to camping gear, hunting gear, clothing, horse and animal supplies, and bulk candy! Kind of overwhelming if it's your first time visiting. Usually you go into the store looking for one thing, but end up being distracted to buy 5 other things! You've been warned...

The River Parkway is a combined effort of Ogden City and Ogden Trails Network volunteers. It is paved, scenic and provides a beautiful partially shaded work right next to the rivers. There places to sit, visit like the Dinosaur Park, and parks like Big D. To the west by Washington Blvd there are some pretty great family/friend restuarants like Slackwater, Kneaders and Prairie Schooner. Its one of the best hour or so round trip you can find in Ogden. And if your near downtown it can't be beat.

I grew up going to Rainbow Gardens as a kid and have enjoyed it for decades now. Through the years it has evolved into one of the best shops in Utah. The restaurant is exceptional. The variety in the store is always changing, always top notch.
