Mangalajodi

Reviewed By 804vijaik - London, United Kingdom

I had called up Madhu Behera {9692122456} and Sanjay Behera for booking the boat ride. Sanjay also has his home stay accommodation in the Mangalajodi Village. Both the boatman and the guide were extremely informative about the migratory birds, My wife who is an extremely avid bird watcher was impressed with the extensive information provided by the guide during the boat tour. I have rarely seen such a huge collection of birds though we were travelling at the end of the season. We have visited several similar sites in India but I would rate Managaljodi as the best. I am lucky I chose to avoid the over hyped Chilka dolphin satapada tour and chose Managljodi instead. Just call Sanjay Behera on 9337810040 or 9090322190 and he will take care of everything. We spent around 1 hour at his home stay where we were treated very warmly by Sanjay and his family. The rooms though basic are very clean and well lit. .

Vaishno Devi Temple

Reviewed By ashishnayak13 - Bhubaneswar, India

It's a lovely temple of Vaishno Devi in the middle of the mountain. You need to climb approximately 500 stairs to reach there. Seaters are available in between this journey so that anyone can rest if needed. From temple you get a beautiful scenic view of half of Rourkela (as other half remains on the other side of the mountain). You can have a lovely time sitting there with your loved ones. Also you can get all the things need for the worship in the temple premises only.

Debrigarh is 21kms from burla. The driving route from Hirakud Dam to Debrigarh is awsome. The road is near to the dam, so view is awsome. Spotting of wild life is gurantted if you are visiting debrigarh. Now the sanctuary authorities have stopped private vehicle inside the park, instead they are offering SAFARI vehicle having 8 seats, cost-rs2000 per trip for around 3hours. During our Safari, we spotted deer, sambar, wild boar, bosin or gaur, lots of peacocks and koel birds. Pease take food items with you, as you will not find any eatables there.Cottages near to the park is very costly, around rs5000 per day for double sharing room. so plan your trip accordingly.

this place is just 170 km bhubaneswar. you need just a motor vehicle and two days to spend your time in nature and away from crowd. best to make your stay in eco-tour nature camp (dangamala), govt. of odisha. it is inside the sanctuary so that you can enjoy wildlife and birds around your room. best to select 4 beded or 3 beded room to enjoy it. if you are a bird watcher then think for khageswar one old care taker to spot them. on day one directly move to dangamala, stay and enjoy there. here you can find white croco's, hatchery firm. next day morning back to the spot "khola"without baggage but with your camera for a boat ride , spot kingfishers and huge crocodiles. during your boat ride take a halt at danagmala, move to canteen to take your breakfast, hold your bags, checkout and return to boat. after 2 hour more boat ride you will back to "khola" during your boat journey you may visit kanika temple, mangroove forests, and watch crocodiles from palm size to 20 feet long, king fishers , wild boar, dears, monkeys, iguana lizards etc. the boat driver srimant and his brother has good idea about the animals. after reaching dangamala, talk to old khageswar to call srimant.

Chandipur Beach

Reviewed By rahulm919 - Kolkata (Calcutta), India

Exactly what we said was RELAXING. We went just to relax ourselves from our day to day activity. We loved the silent evening of the village, the roaring sound of the sea (though sea plays hide and seek) and the cool gush of wind releasing all ur stress at the beach with taking sip of coconut water... ???????????? Come and relax. We stayed in Arpita Beach Resort booked from goibibo, 10 min walk to sea. Ambiance and staff were good and its restaurant had tasty food with reasonable price. Loved my 2 night 3 days trip. If you have time you can have a half day local sightseeing. U will enjoy. Must visit Emami Jagannat temple.

Simlipal National park is situated in Mayurbhanj district in the state of Odisha. Before entering into the forest, stay one night in Baripada. Next morning start for Simlipal by car. Beforehand, collect permit from forest authority which is essential to take an entree. See water fall at Joronda, Barehipani and Uski. Then come to Gurguria Ecotourism complex by the side of the Khairi River for night stay. In the morning, if you like, after taking tea, go out for trekking in the forest and return after a couple of hours. After taking breakfast start for Jamuani. Take lunch there at Eco tourism Centre. Come to Chahala to look for the wild animals in the afternoon from the watch tower. Spend the night at Jamuani. In the next morning, you may leave Simlipal. If any tourist wants to have the guarantee to witness the wild animals like tiger or elephant, he will be disappointed. One should concentrate on enjoying the natural beauty of the forest. You will see wide varieties of birds. As regards wild animals, it is a matter of chance. In our tour, we have seen deer, gaur, monkeysand langur.
