Nice place to go for a quick movie night! Not the greatest or not the worst, just good ole average! Don't forget Twistee Treat across the street after the show.

Simply the best. This beach never disappoints us. We usually bring a picnic lunch and our bikes, and spend the day. It is always a peaceful time because there are so many access points to the beach, that overcrowding does not occur.

There are many ways to enjoy your Orlando vacation, but there is only one place where vacation becomes adventure: Universal Orlando Resort. It is a unique destination featuring two theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure, three magnificently themed on-site hotels and a nighttime entertainment complex. It's the only Orlando destination where you are not just entertained - you become part of the most exhilarating entertainment ever created. You can soar above Hogwarts with Harry Potter, swing above the streets with Spider-Man, battle aliens alongside Agent J, and help Shrek save Princess Fiona in Shrek 4-D. Now open: the new, heart-warming and hilarious Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride. And coming soon: Transformers The Ride-3D. Universal Orlando Resort is part of NBCUniversal, a Comcast company.
This is an excellent addition to universal since we last visited. The kids loved it! Rides are fabulous!!

We took the trail from Killarney Station to Winter Garden Station (a round trip of about 10 miles) and were suitably impressed. We hired bikes at Killarney Station which was easy to do and reasonably priced, something I would definitely recommend doing if you're visiting the area and don't have your own bikes with you.
The Orange County Parks & Recreation division (the department responsible for the maintenance and development of the trail) have clearly thought things through, with a multi-purpose trail suitable for walkers, cyclists, joggers and skaters taking visitors through wooded, green-space and residential areas. There are mile markers along the way, so you know how far you've gone (maps are also available at most of the stations) and information boards along the trail provide useful information about the flora and fauna you might see along the way.
Most of the trail is flat which is preferable given the high temperatures this region is known for. There are large sections of the trail which are shaded by overhead tree canopy, but I would recommend a visit earlier in the morning before it gets too hot if you don't like the idea of cycling/walking in the heat! It can also get pretty busy, especially at the weekends, so I would recommend going during the week if you're looking to avoid heavy traffic.
Most of the stations along the trail have amenities (restrooms, vending machines, etc) although we found some of them were closed on the day we went (Sunday). There's lots to see along the way, including some lovely houses, wildlife and quirky commercial buildings featuring some very interesting decorations!
All in all this is a great way to see Florida in a different and unique way and makes a welcome change from the busy theme parks and outlet malls. Well worth a visit if you're looking to take a break from the usual attractions and want something different to do.

Well worth the short drive out of the hustle & bustle of Orlando to see a different side of Florida. The lake and scenery is amazing with plenty of wildlife & millionaire homes to see which you wouldn’t normally get to see except from on the water. The boat is great & takes you on a relaxing journey around the lakes and through canals. The guide was very knowledgeable & made the trip interesting & enjoyable. We booked on line which was easy & hassle free. We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend to anyone for a great day out.

Oakland Nature Preserve (ONP) is located in Orange County, Florida on the south end of Lake Apopka. It encompasses 128 acres that include five of Florida's 12 major ecosystems. The Preserve is open 365 day a year, and its over 13 miles of hiking trails/boardwalk and education center are free to the public (no bicycles or pets please). The mission of ONP is to promote understanding of the fragile balance between humans and the environment through education, restoration, and conservation, and inspire children and adults to become good stewards of the natural environment
This was such a great place to go for a hike. My husband and I go to different parks/preserves/trails every week and go hiking with our 9-month-old daughter. This was a great and easy hike. It has lots of boardwalks and also ahs a nature trail. The nature trail goes by an animal sanctuary that even has Zebras!!!! It was absolutely amazing!

Right down the road from homes its so easy to get to. They just give you buckets and let you go! Blueberry bushes were so full it was crazy!! One full row between my husband and I and we got 9 lbs of berries to last me the summer. Oh and they have honey!! Just loved it - go early in the season to get the best berries and the best weather.

Rough gravel. Mountain Bikes only. It is basically a maintenance road for a swamp. A monument to the utter stupidity of the Water Management District. The largest environmental disaster in Florida. No one was punished for Killing lake Apopka. Today it is a Dead Lake.
Go to GatorLand instead.
