En Via is a non-profit microfinance organization working to fight poverty around Oaxaca, and to educate travelers about the power of microfinance by connecting them with local women either through visits to their towns, or through our volunteer program teaching free English classes to women and children. On the visits, travelers meet women who are applying for micro-loans to start or expand their small businesses, from making tortillas to weaving beautiful rugs, to selling flowers in the local market. Participants hear about the women's lives and projects, and what they plan to do with their loans. At the end of the day, the profits from the tours fund En Via's micro-loan and education programs.

Custom-designed private tours for one or more people. After the success of our Mexico City tours, Mahsa has developed a particular range of tours specific to Oaxaca: focusing on everything from crafts cooperatives and artist workshops in the city to village visits to meet artisans, musicians and traditional healers. Our walking tours include several markets and general orientation, but also spots in Oaxaca beyond the sight of most tourists.

Mezcal Educational Excursions of Oaxaca offers spirits aficionados, novices & industry professionals 1 - 3 day mezcal tours in Oaxaca's central valleys and beyond. Learn about agave / maguey, photograph, sample, buy. We visit small, family operated distilleries (palenques) using clay pot production & traditional copper stills (alembics). You'll finish the day also understanding the families' cultures. Inquire regarding our expertise, testimonials, cost, etc. Ask about group tour packages for not only about mezcal and pulque, but also delving into Oaxacan cuisine and craft beer pairing. Considering a business plan exporting mezcal with your own label, or opening a bar or restaurant with a healthy complement of mezcal, or a mezcaleria? We are also consultants in this respect. Or, if you are a photographer or documentary film maker, we have assisted this type of professional on many occasions over the past decade. Mezcal is a full time passion, but a part-time vocation; so inquire early.

A day with Seasons of my Heart was an absolute delight! Starting with a tour of the Mercado, Yolando explained so much about the foods of Oaxaca, their uniqueness compared to other Mexican cuisines. We got to taste from many different vendors. From the Mercado we headed back to the cooking school and after a quick, delicious lunch, we divided into groups to each make one of the six courses. Under Yolanda's and her assistant's watchful eye, we created one of the most dellicious meals I've ever had- ANYWHERE. What an experience and how fun to start as a group of 13 strangers and end up with 13 new friends at the end of the day. This is a cultural experience well worth your time.
