We drove a long way from Frankfort to the Lighthouse. We did not go inside as it closed at 4pm. No flush toilets, all vault or porta potties. We took a walk on the beach and through the primitive campground. It was an okay trip. Once is enough. No bike riding trails.

My mom or Dad isn't wine crazy but they both really enjoyed this tasting and so did I. The white port and the raspberry port were amazing. The moscato was great! The tasting is 5 free pours which is so nice. Lots of different wines and very friendly staff. Definitely will be back.

After visiting a few years ago, we were reluctant to go back since we didn't care for their ciders. This visit we were pleasantly surprised to taste some really good cider! The cinnamon and the smackintosh were excellent. The tasting room was full so we sat out on the patio. It was a great stop.

Fishtown Preservation Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization devoted to preserving and protecting the historic fishing village of Leland, Michigan. For more information on what we do, who we are, and our mission, please visit our website or check in on Facebook.
If you have some extra time, take the drive up to Leland to see Fishtown. Several fishermen were in action. Charming shops surrounded the water. Tons of amateur photographers catching scenes. Be cautious navigating the shops near the water as the docks are narrow with no roping to prevent falls. This particular area wouldn't be safe for small children. We enjoyed walking along the Main Street exploring the other unique shops.

Busy but quiet. Located on Lake Michigan at the entrance to the Grand Traverse Bays. The park is primitive camping but primitive camping right on Lake Michigan. Large sites, great views and reasonable prices. The closet town is a bit of a drive so make sure you have all you need with you. While you are there walk over and visit the lighthouse museum.

Our winery is located amongst a 67 acre organic farm on the Leelanau Peninsula. We are two miles south of the picturesque waterfront community of Northport. Come visit the tasting room to try our estate made wines, handcrafted hard ciders, and locally made microbrews. Get a glass of your favorite and stay to experience the serenity of the farm.
All in all it was lovely. Ambiance is kitschy with an attitude. Off the beat but consider the journey. While not my favorite for many it might be perfect!

Even if you are not an apple fan, the display of 10,000 pop bottles is jaw dropping! There were free apple samples to taste. The owner had great recommendations for varieties to try when I told her which were my favorites. I was unfamiliar with antique applies and I learned a lot. Great place!

bought the cheapest shot glass I could find in the store, we collect shot glasses from every city we go to. The guy at the counter tried to give us a nice bag with handles, the other lady told him that it was wayyyy to big of a bag for us. He said that it was a nice way to carry the item and to get some free advertising. She stated that the bags were expensive and we didn't need to give that to them. Little did that lady know, I am the bag lady. I take those kinds of bags everywhere with me and it would have gotten a lot of use. Lots of nice Michigan shirts and things in the store, just too expensive.

A craft brewery and taproom located on the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula. Food Truck now open on weekends!
What a great sight as we pulled into Norhtport. Like a lighthouse for travelers.
We enjoyed a flight by the fireplace on the patio on a crisp fall afternoon. The brews were all fresh and delightful. The staff were helpful in our quest for lodging, too.
Check this place out for all your travel needs.

Northport's only wine-tasting room, offering seven Motovino Cellars wines, each crafted from Leelanau Peninsula fruit (okay ,truth be told, the table wines are blends and have some other northern Michigan grapes as well). Thumper and Cafe are the dry, and semi-dry Rieslings, Cruiser our un-oaked Chardonnay. The table wines are Dream (white) and F-Head (red). And finally, we have the fruit wines, our Scooters, in Cherry and Peach. Even if you don't typically like fruit wines, we think you might be pleasantly surprised by these.
Update and very attractive entrance. Eye-catching antique Italian Motor bike on premises. Wine tasting bar. Upscale pastas (out of this world). Try the citrus pasta next time you prepare salmon! Ccheese, butter, thin salmon, and the terrific Jenni's ice-cream and frozen yogurts. Items you would not find at the small local grocery.
