Recreational sailing is fun and you can bring your entire family! Enjoy the tranquility of the Potomac River and glide across the water with just the power of wind on the sail. The Potomac River stretches an impressive three miles across, and nearly ten wide here and there is plenty of room to play! Our beautiful Catalina sailboats are at least 22 feet and outfitted with outboard motors and plenty of storage space! We offer sailing cruises with a captain onboard, sailboat certifications, sailboat try sail classes, and sailboat rentals. So, try your hand at the tiller as a helmsman, raise the sails, and set your sights for an adventure. There is so much to learn!

UpCycle Creative Reuse Center is an Alexandria, Virginia based non-profit that connects creativity and conservation by providing a resource center for reuse materials and a creative making space for the community. Jane Franklin Dance crosses disciplines in partnership with music, media, visual artists and community participants. A vibrant part of the Washington DC/Northern Virginia cultural community, Jane Franklin Dance has been presented at multiple venues and festivals and internationally in Mexico. A recipient of the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region Creative Communities Award, Jane has developed innovative and collaborative projects combining dancers with the round wall skateboarding community, with a life size kinetic sculpture, with the architecture of a specific site, with dogs & owners, and with interactive live video and sound for numerous public art projects. Jane Franklin is a recipient of the American Association of University Women Elizabeth Campbell Award for the Advancement of the Arts in Arlington, and her video work Four Mile Run Footbridge was selected for PHOTO/VIDEO 13: Juried Mid-Atlantic Exhibition. Jane Franklin Dance has been recognized by Virginia's Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts. The company tours for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Paul Mellon Arts in Education Program and the Virginia Commission's Tour Directory. Collaborative projects have received funding in multiple years from the Virginia Commission, the Alexandria Commission, and the Arlington Commission for the Arts, American Composers Forum - Washington DC Chapter and from foundations including Arlington Community Foundation and Washington Forrest Foundation. Forty+ and workshops for older adults provide adult dance programming such as free healthy movement workshops at senior centers, classes for active older adults and rare performance opportunities for dancers over age 40. Performances for children delight young audiences with imaginative storytelling through dance. Camps provide intensive week-long learning in movement, theatre and visual art.

The Workhouse Arts Center, once a former prison, is now a flourishing arts community that is home to over 100 of the finest regional artists, with a rich local and national history. The Workhouse has a beautiful campus open year round to the public, with eight artist studio buildings, two main galleries, a prison museum, cafe, gift shop, art supply store, new Youth Arts Center and W-3 Theatre. New performances at the Workhouse W-3 Theatre include: Comedy Nights, a Cabaret Series, Dinner and a Movie Nights, as well as Children’s Theatre programs. The Workhouse offers over 200 educational opportunities for all age groups and skill levels.

At Cheers Art Studio anyone can be an artist! In just two hours, a talented local artist guides the class as each participant creates his or her their own masterpiece. Participants bring their own refreshments while Cheers Art Studio provides the art supplies and instruction. The fun atmosphere is perfect for dates, a night out with friends, or solo evening out.
