Mindszenti church (Saint Peter and Paul apostle church) is a roman catholic church at Mindszent ter (square), in the inner city of Miskolc. The chapel (the ancestor of the current church) was first referred in 1507. Next to the chapel stood the poors’ hospital. The construction of the church began in 1724, originally in baroque style. Its shape as known today was finalized in 1880.

It can only be visited by prior appointment. The pulpit and the pipe-organ of the largest protestant church of the region were made in the 19th century. The 69-meter tall tower hosts the largest bell of Miskolc, the Eszter Bell, weighing 30 quintals. The 182-cm large gilded rooster symbol of the church was renovated and then restored to its original place in January 2011.

Had a superb visit to this place today. Took the combined cellars tour and Palace ticket. the visit to the caves was fascinating. Quite a grid under the city! Nice to have a wine-tasting thrown in. What made the visit extra special was the guided tour in English by David. He gave us a personal tour of the whole collection in excellent English- all because my wife asked for an audio-guide for me! Thanks for a wonderful couple of hours!

Quite nice view towards the north, this lookout was recently renewed and it worth the money (200 HUF) they ask for...take coins with you as there is noone to change for you and you would have to walk back a few hundred meters to change and hike up again.
