The best collection of owls on display to the public in the whole of Wales.
This lovely place genuinely brought warmth to a cold, winter's day. My wife drove us here from Mold and was relatively easy to find. We had a warm welcome from Bill (and Colin the dog) and were soon in the hands of one of the more than capable and very knowledgeable and pleasant volunteers (Jo) for a proper tour of the aviaries. What a wonderful experience. One that will last a lifetime - as will my love of owls. But it isn't just owls (of which there are many different varieties!) There are other birds of prey to see and a couple of other surprises, besides. Although it might seem obvious - if you do go; please don't rattle the cages or be too noisy around the poor creatures - they are largely nocturnal and you need to respect that. Please.

This conservation zoo has a wide range of rare and endangered animals from around the world.
I found the Welsh Mountain Zoo captivating and chimpanzee enclosure area where public sat for 15 - 20 mins interesting for animal lovers and informative ..Chimps not in there long enough to cause distress and in a family group ...Captive maybe, but a small group of chimps protected and loved by staff, you could see that clearly and not just for our entertainment ...Another outside area to go to later Loved by the zoo you could see that and the young man who cared for their group. Amazing to be so close to a species under threat ... Flamencos in a beautiful spot .. Sea Lion well fed and all seals swimming freely and a chat to the public same man about plastic, the environment and conservation...Generally very informative for animal lovers who care Otters photo here very happy ... Deer, horses, emu, all amazing in bright sunshine ... I did not get chance to see all the animals Tiger was asleep after feeding in his sleeping area and has a huge section later to play and be a tiger Good value for money under £7 and best day out ever for me personally Highly recommend to visit, and will go again 2020 ... Conservation is importa\nt to protect wildlife and the Snow Leopard will get a bigger area soon to roam freely that is being built ..

I can't remember how we stumbled upon this place, but I'm glad we did! It was really interesting, in a lovely setting with loads of different things to do. (Aquarium, mini golf, playground, cafe, gift shop etc) Staff were lovely, especially the young lady that served us when our youngling wanted a pearl... she talked us through the whole process, explained what type of pearl we had, and it's value. She gave us a certificate of authenticity, our youngling loved it! We finished off with a drink and cake in the cafe, and a quick go with the remote controlled boats! We all really enjoyed it, and may go back in a few days, as the ticket we brought (family) allows us to go back free of charge within a week... bonus!!

Rhyl SeaQuarium has an open seafront location and sits on the beautiful North Wales coastline. We would like to welcome all new explorers to join us on a voyage of discovery as we travel beneath the waves, from tranquil fresh waters to the cold depths of the abyss. Along the way we will encounter the strangely shaped sturgeon, as well as sharks found off our very own coast and rays that glide effortlessly through the water. We will also find solitary lobsters, conger eels and mystical axolotls before entering the Lethal Reef, home to some of the most poisonous animals on our planet. These are just a few of the amazing, strange and beautiful animals that await us on our adventure.
Our kids (10,8,6,3)all loved being up close to so many sea creatures! We used Tesco vouchers to pay for it.

Fabulous time for my daughters 4th birthday, we took our own party food & cake (no parties are currently being hosted by Greenacres due to Covid) staff are so accommodating. Animals all happy & healthy, tractor ride absolutely hilarious what a great day out we had and lots of happy memories made - thank you Greenacres!
