Llanddwyn Beach

Reviewed By pattersa - Liverpool, United Kingdom

This is an island but accessible on foot except for high tides. There are great views and a number of historical sites on the island. There are lots of little coves along the shores of the island, for a swim or a paddle. The nearest car park is the beach car-park at Newborough Warren, there are trails through the pine woods on the dunes or you can walk along the beach. Perfect for a day out with a picnic.

Harlech Beach

Reviewed By JSHD2016 - Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

This beach is stunning and the water is quite warm in patches in the summer months. Definitely go and definitley take your golf clubs too because there is a golf course within stones throw of the beach along with camping and the steepest street in the world (according to Guiness World Book of records) just down the road plus castle. Enjoy

Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth)

Reviewed By Johnfrisbee - Christchurch, United Kingdom

Wow, such a long, wide and wild-if-windy beach. Perfect for a gentle stroll, or blowing off the cobwebs, depending on the weather. You get a real sense of isolation here, with not that many fellow walkers, (midweek/October). It's well signposted on the local road, with a small car park. Then around 5mins walk along a sandy path through the dunes... And then - the view! We enjoyed reading the various signs, learning a little of the beach's history and wildlife. (The more signs and info the better methinks. History and wildlife very important, as well as giving areas like these context.) We loved it here, spending a very happy hour, walking part of this huge beach. Oh that we had more time to cover it all...no matter, we'll return someday.

Tywyn Beach

I cannot remember the last time I visited Tywyn but I will be back again soon. We found a good fish and chip shop to have our lunch and was surprised by the number of shops there were there. We went down to the beach and found plenty of benches to sit on and relax. The beach was so clean and you did not have to pay for parking in the car park. Ideal place to take children as there is plenty of sand to make castles. Will be back again soon

Dinas Dinlle Beach

Reviewed By louw897

This is a great beach, especially if you walk beyond where the road ends. Pebbles and lots of sand at low tide, plus a path on the dunes. You can walk all the way to the end of the accessible part near Fort Belan which is now a private property with some rental units. Amazing photography opportunities over beach and sea towards the mountains, sunrise and sunset both fab. Nearby is Caernarfon airport, a great place to watch the planes while eating something from the cafe. Main part of beach has shops and cafes, but gets busier in peak season.

Rhos-on-Sea Beach

Reviewed By mercuryderbyshire - Buxton, United Kingdom

We stopped off here on our way home from Llandudno. This is a pleasant little seaside town with a lovely clean sandy beach and small harbour. The walk on the roadside path or lower promenade is fairly level and there are benches along the walk. We paused to take in the views and to watch the seabirds - gulls, cormorants and oystercatchers mostly. There were a few people looking into rock pools and the beach seems family and dog friendly. The views were good and there was free parking. When we have called in the past we’ve walked back from the beach to one of the small cafes but this time there was young lady selling delicious ice cream so we settled for that instead. Rhos on Sea is much quieter than nearby Colwyn Bay and has a nice, relaxing feel about it.
