We have just completed one of the escape rooms with friends at Escape Room Adventures. At first, when my friend asked me to do it, I hesitated. I am a bit claustrophobic and did not want to be locked in a room. Turns out, the situation was set up so creatively and was so mentally engaging that I didn’t even think about being locked in the room! The truth is, had I wanted to get out I could have. There are cameras set up inside the room and you are given an iPad. This allows you to be seen by the “game- room manager”… and to ask questions if need be. Our room’s theme (there are four different ones) was “Escape from Shady Acres”...which was set in a mental institution... similar to that in the movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoos‘s Nest“. I will say no more… but I encourage you to experience your own escape room adventure! After you play the game make sure you stop for dinner at “Canal Club 62” downstairs in the same building on Webster Street. We had a wonderful dinner there with great service by Kaitlin and Kayel!

Special-interest museum that features the historical and elaborate Herschell carousels in the original factory building. Ride our 102 year old carousel! Our band organs play every day. Enjoy 3 Wurlitzer organs and an Artizan grand organ. Special events for a family audience are presented each month.
This is a fun place to spend an hour! The exhibits are interesting for young and old. PLUS you get 2 tickets with your admission to ride the carousel. This is a great activity even on a rainy day, the carousel is indoors. The staff could not have been nicer, greeting us as we entered the building. They even have a scavenger hunt for kids in their information booklet.

I have made visits here when in Buffalo for the past few years -- and always walk out with something wonderful. No over-priced stuff or 'junk' on the shelves. The only negative is that in the summer - it can be as hot as Hades! It is an old barn with hardly any ventilation. Most of the year it is quite cozy.

Wonderful wetland forest that is open to the public with hiking trails. Over 100 species of birds have been spotted here including Great Horned and Screech Owls. Best visited in autumn after mosquitoes are gone for the season and the wetlands have completely dried up for the year. In Spring, many frogs, and critters in wetland pools. Deer present, too. An oasis of nature in approximately 70 acres in the middle of suburbia.
