A grand mansion that all tourists should come and visit to understand one man's excellent efforts to contribute to the growth of the city of Medan through local and Chinese migrant labour. Tjong A Fie was an associate of Cheong Fatt Tze (Blue Mansion in Penang, Malaysia), and both mansions certainly have their similarities. When we arrived, an English speaking guide took us around. He was from the local university and this was his gig to practise speaking English. He refused to accept money, but we pressed it into his hand and he was more than appreciative. The 'tour' was an hour but we spent another hour going through the mansion ourselves.

This is one of famous village in the district of dairi. It is located at the edge of lake toba and has a very beautiifull view of hills the lake toba and the name is Silalahi Beach. The beach in particular is very nice where you do the swimming activities.however, you have to go silalahi beach that far from "fish farmer" that brings water polution to the water. In here there is a comfortable hotel and a restaurant that provides a steady menu for you enjoy, the price is quite affordable. Other that the condition of the road that is quite bad about 15 minutes. But all will be paid when you enjoy the beauty of the silalahi beach... Thank you

We visited the Simanindo museum in August 2019. The Batak traditional houses and the royal thumbs are well preserved. In the small museum, there are also interesting and well preserved weapons and music instruments. We were lucky as we could see the traditional Batak dance, i.e.: Tor-Tor dance. A must in Samosir Island!!!
