A holiday in Norfolk is not a glamorous break. While the Norfolk Broads of East Anglia are a beautiful part of the UK, they represent a relaxing rural getaway rather than a high-powered city-break. Although its reputation is mostly rural, with people associating the county mostly with the wetlands of the Norfolk Broads, there are also towns such as Norwich and King's Lynn to visit, both of which provide shopping opportunities, nightlife and entertainment. Norfolk also contains a large stretch of coastline, and seaside destinations such as Cromer and Great Yearmouth mean there are great beaches to be found as well. Many areas of the Norfolk Broads and the coastal region are sites of outstanding natural beauty, and are also protected as bird reserves, so take a pair of binoculars on holiday. There are also popular wildlife attractions such as Banham Zoo, with a great collection of big cats, and Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, complete with tropical sharks and conger eels. And of course, if any of your family are interested in boating, you'll need to rent a boat and explore the waterways of the Broads themselves!

We had a very pleasant 3 night stop over in the CL site right behind the pub in our Motorhome. The team at the pub were very welcoming and the pitches were decent sized and all with electric hook up. Food at the pub was excellent and very generous sized portions even for someone like myself with a big appetite. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, it’s a reduced menu but there was still plenty of choice, most meals were £8 each (no starters or desserts), home cooked and piping hot. They certainly didn’t disappoint at all There is a small railway stop about 200 yds walk but the line was under maintenance with a rail renewal programme for a couple of weeks otherwise it would have been very handy to visit Norwich and further without moving the Motorhome. The Sugar Factory is right next door to the inn but personally I didn’t find it a problem as the view along the Broads with plenty of passing boats more than made up for it! Definitely worth a visit - or a re-visit in our case!

The Fat Cat has a superb selection of ales which are constantly changing. Even though it is often very full, you will only have to wait less than a minute to be served. Staff are polite and knowledgeable and the clientele is always friendly. Best pub in Norwich

Great cocktails, great atmosphere, great service. Especially liked the provision of sanitary products in the bathroom for free. Only qualm would be small portions for £9 a drink. Have been twice and intend to go again!

Bowling House is a cocktail bar, karaoke venue and restaurant that just happens to be a ten pin bowling alley. Located on Dereham Road in Norwich City Centre, Bowling House is a great night out with fun group activities and special offers. A new addition to Norwich nightlife, if you’re planning an event for a birthday meal, hen party or stag do we have all the event ideas for big groups. We have plenty of fun things to do with the kids that are good for a rainy day, so if you’re looking for somewhere to take the family give us a call. Our corporate hospitality packages are great for work nights out, with special deals for team building or your annual Christmas Party.
Really enjoyable experience as always. No bowling due to covid restrictions, so just drinks and food with friends outside. Friendly and attentive service, good prices including great-tasting 241 cocktails anytime on different cocktails and a variety of them, great tasting food and well-chosen music. They even moved us to another table when our time ended and never pushed us to leave. Will be going again soon to use my new membership and to bowl too!

Micro brewery and the finest pub in Norwich. A year round beer festival with great live music and the most entertaining quiz night for miles around with the most enthusiastic manager you could wish to meet.
Visited last week quieter than normal due to COVID-19 restrictions, but still joint number 1 pub in Britain in my humble opinion (along with the Fat Cat West End Street) Great quality and well kept beers as ever on offer along with great atmosphere friendly knowledgeable staff which makes it a must go to place to. Indulge in the cheesy chips which were delicious and great value for money. Can hardly wait for my next visit.

We were given the best of welcomes and had loads of yummy sandwiches and chips waiting for us on of cycle trip. All the staff made us feel at home and the safety arrangements were simple and clear but not over zealous - so the atmosphere was relaxed and hospitable. Thank you.
