"Thorshammars Verkstads AB" was registered 1876 and is one of Swedens oldest incorporated company. Todays workshop was build in 1887. At 1900 the employment was at large with 33 workers. The workshop closed 1983 and everything that was left is still there! "Thorshammars" will now turn into a working museum.

"Polhemshjulet" is a water wheel built in 1877 and replaced several old and smaller wheels. It powered the time rod to all the mines around Karrgruvan. The wheel could go all day & night! The channel is preserved, restored and a nice path to walk. The key to "Polhemshjulet" can be found in "Storkiosken" close by.

"Mossgruveparken" is an abandoned mine field with deep and water filled opencast. Iron ore was removed from here during the medieval until the early 1900s. A guided road leads through tha park. The oldest mining method to break mountains is with fire. When gun powder, nitroglycering and dynamite came you could explode holes. Mining technique, tools and machines is shown in the museum.
