Discovered in 1818, Smallin Cave’s breathtaking ten-story arch will lead you into rich human history, unusual geology and rare cave life. One-hour guided tours, Open year-round.
Had a rare opportunity to see Smallin Cave for a "night" tour - rare as the night tours are only offered in the Fall along with dinner - beans cornbread and fried potatoes next to an outdoor campfire. That was visit #1 as we have already made plans to visit the cave during our next visit to Springfield. Which would make our second visit or "twice".Smallin Cave is privately owned and run - the whole family keeps you entertained with the history of the cave. Smallin Cave was just approved to be placed on the list of National Historic Places and well deserved - the amount of history that is little part of Springfield is well worth the trip - used by the Osage Indians - Settlers - both the Union and the Confederate Armies. Call ahead for tickets as tour space is limited. Check out their web site - worth the time to look online and well worth the time for a small trip back in time - photos inside the cave and out are welcomed - will not be a waste of your digital camera space!

Area's Largest Fishing Charter Service in the Branson Missouri area. We have been guiding on Table Rock, Taneycomo and Bull Shoals lakes for over 18yrs. We specialize in bass, trout, crappie, whitebass, walleye, paddlefish and Bowfishing!
I arranged a guided fishing trip with Eric Olliverson and sent a deposit. When I asked for a verification of the $200.00 deposit check, Eric didn't know it had been received and cashed a few days earlier. He then proceeded to criticize my inquiry and labeled me with foul names. We agreed to cancel his services and after two weeks of "my refund is on the way", it has not been received.
Beware of his business practices. His immaturity and unprofessionalism is evident with his current company, as well as a previous one.

Wilson's Creek is a well-preserved Civil War battlefield. It was fascinating to read about the history that happened here. The battlefield area is very large and I wore myself out hiking to see as many of the historic markers as I could in the July heat and humidity. I would recommend visiting when the weather is a little bit cooler and make sure you take along some water.

The 112-acre Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park contains a number of garden attractions including the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden and Dr. Roston Native Butterfly House; the historic Gray-Campbell Farmstead; picnic pavilions; access to the South Creek Greenway. The park is open sunrise to sunset. The Botanical Center/ welcome center is open Monday-Saturday 8 am - 8 pm and Sunday 11 am - 6pm April - October. The building closes at 5 pm November - March. The majority of the park is free.
This place is an outdoor garden getaway! There is an indoor area with traveling/rotating themes. It's nice and cool for a summer's day or warm when it gets cold outside. There's a small playground nearby. There's a large lawn perfect for picnicking and kite flying. There's a beautiful flower garden walkway maintained by local garden clubs. The path flows into a path that surrounds a small lake normally full of geese. There's a small shuttle that travels around every 30 minutes on Saturdays to help those who struggle walking enjoy the beauty along with a guided tour. It has local history with the Greene House in the back. The connecting Japanese Stroll garden (for a fee) completes this hidden gem.

Loved reading the history of the firearms and seeing them displayed. There was also an impressive archery wing. Most impressed with the authenticity and the historical relevance of the displayed items. Would go back giving the opportunity. The grandsons loved it as it had to do with guns and knives and things of that sort! The entrance space is deceiving at first sight. There is a lot to take in!!! LOVED IT!!!

You'll find a broad selection of cheeses with serve yourself samples. So very nice to sample the variety without interruptions. So many different kinds to choose from that you're sure to find your favorite and a couple new favorites, too! The wine shop features local wines and lots of them.

A lot of people travel the 60&65 freeway into and leaving Springfield and never realize this park even exists. It goes down to wetland environment on the north shore of lake Springfield. It is a snapshot of what the James River Valley looked like before the city existed.
In Many times of the year visitors have seen Bald Eagles and other rare birds.Abundant Deer and other wildlife.

We visited here with our church group. The path through the woods is nice, the actors did a good job (VERY creepy at times), and the little petting zoo for kids was nice. If you want to make a night of it, they show scary movies on a big "drive in" type screen, but you'll need to bring chairs/blankets, since it's not actually a drive in.

I've gotten mani/pedis, haircuts, and facials here, and had a good experience each time. Most times have been through a Groupon or daily deal type situation, but both of the girls who did the facial & mani/pedi specials offered me follow up discounts at similarly low prices, so a really great deal. Most recently had my hair cut by Tonya & was really pleased with the results! Their facility is very clean and they use this awesome cherry blossom sanitizing spray in the mani/pedi room so it doesn't smell like a nail salon.
