September 17, 2021 Tynisha Seiler

Newburyport is a small coastal, scenic, and historic city in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States, 35 miles (56 km) northeast of Boston. The population was 17,416 at the 2010 census. A historic seaport with a vibrant tourism industry, Newburyport includes part of Plum Island. The mooring, winter storage and maintenance of recreational boats, motor and sail, still contribute a large part of the city's income. A Coast Guard station oversees boating activity, especially in the swift tidal currents of the Merrimack River.

Last night I saw Billy Elliot the Musical. The whole experience was great. The actors were talented, choreography was impressive, sets and sound were awesome. I sat in the very back row of the balcony and could see and hear everything perfectly. The building is charming with high beamed ceilings and artwork in the lobby and stairwell. They sold snacks and soft drinks during intermission. There is a public parking lot across the street, but on a busy night parking is tough. It is near to (and attached to) restaurants and a gelato place for a before or after snack/drink. There are many stairs up to get to the auditorium and more stairs down to use the restroom, so plan accordingly. I believe there is an elevator somewhere.
