New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ ( listen); Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses—the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui), and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and around 600 smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long period of isolation, New Zealand developed a distinct biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.

The whole experience was fantastic. Wayne obviously knows the beautiful river like the back of his hand. The boat trip itself was wonderful - fascinating, and so scenic, and after an exhilarating boat ride, we arrived at the most gorgeous and remote place along the river. We learned a lot along the way. We enjoyed an interesting rainforest walk. Wayne made us a hot coffee and we ate some lovely fresh scones in that pristine and peaceful place. The trip back down the river was great fun, and we loved the contrasting quiet place with its reflections and birdsong where we learned even more about the river and its fauna and flora. We loved this whole experience, easily the best jet boat excursion we have ever been on. Don't miss it if you are down in South Westland - it's worth the trip to go there.

We booked a photo tour of areas that most people wouldn’t go, to capture unique images. We were highly delighted with not only the tour locations but the personalised and engaging explanations of the flora, fauna, local stories and histories en route. Martin, our driver and guide; was excellent tutoring, driving and advising on images. We went off-road into stunning high country which offered excellent picture opportunities, can’t wait to process. Summer was brilliant, would love to return in winter! Highly recommended and would love to repeat with Martin again if back in New Zealand.

On our photography tours we provide beautiful natural New Zealand scenery both inside and outside of the glow worm caves, with an experienced guide. These tours are “private”. That is, your group and your guide will be the only participants on the tour. On photography tours we take a minimum of two and a maximum of four people. There are excellent photo opportunities, including beautiful glow worms. The cave system is one of only two in the Waitomo district that is classified by New Zealand's Department of Conservation as being of “International Significance”. And it is completely untouched! On photography tours we allow larger cameras and other equipment like small tripods. And you have the freedom to take a lot more time over your photography than you do on our other tours. Photographing glow worms is challenging, and can take some time. The results though can be spectacular!
Inclusions: Local guide, All caving equipment and warm clothing including: thermal top, thermal pants, fleece top, shorts, gumboots, socks, helmet and headlamp, Shower facilities for after the tour, if required, Tea, coffee, and snack after the tour
Exclusions: Pickup and drop-off, Photography equipment (bring your own camera equipment)
Our personalised tour was one of the highlights of NZ! Learned a lot about the biology of the caves and the glow worms themselves - nature is amazing! Ash was very friendly, hilarious and informative and made it an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

Whether you live here or are visiting we have found the best places to photograph our dark skies. We also know how to plan positioning with the moon and weather. The darkest skies are around the new moon. But also we think we take some stunning images when the moon is full as a lunar portrait. Moonlight rocks! These long winter nights in NZ Wintertime coincide with Matariki or the Maori New Year. Come along with us this Winter 2019 and find out more of navigation using the stars, constellations and how to find the Matariki stars. At the very least we can show you the galactic Kiwi! We shoot your portrait with the galactic core as a backdrop while explaining the southern skies.

We contacted Aiste very last minute and she was so accommodating. She actually did a family session for us - my husband, me, and our kids ages 15, 12 and 10. Despite the unbelievable WIND, Aiste captured some gorgeous photos that literally took my breath away. She got some great posed and candid shots that really brought out the personalities of each of our children. She was excellent to work with, communicated quickly and was fun during the session. I highly recommend Aiste for your family Queenstown photo session!
