On our photography tours we provide beautiful natural New Zealand scenery both inside and outside of the glow worm caves, with an experienced guide. These tours are “private”. That is, your group and your guide will be the only participants on the tour. On photography tours we take a minimum of two and a maximum of four people. There are excellent photo opportunities, including beautiful glow worms. The cave system is one of only two in the Waitomo district that is classified by New Zealand's Department of Conservation as being of “International Significance”. And it is completely untouched! On photography tours we allow larger cameras and other equipment like small tripods. And you have the freedom to take a lot more time over your photography than you do on our other tours. Photographing glow worms is challenging, and can take some time. The results though can be spectacular!

Whether you live here or are visiting we have found the best places to photograph our dark skies. We also know how to plan positioning with the moon and weather. The darkest skies are around the new moon. But also we think we take some stunning images when the moon is full as a lunar portrait. Moonlight rocks! These long winter nights in NZ Wintertime coincide with Matariki or the Maori New Year. We shoot your portrait with the galactic core as a backdrop while explaining the southern skies.

This 2.5-hour Napier History overview and Art Deco Tour will allow you to take in all the main Art Deco components this unique City has to offer. On this tour you will learn about Napier's history including the huge earthquake of 1931 and enjoy driving through many of the Art Deco areas including local suburbs, such as Ahuriri the home of the National Tobacco Building and Marewa where you will drive through a very lovingly kept and dozens of original 1930's Art Deco homes. As New Zealand's oldest Winery calls Napier home, you will also visit the Mission Estate and learn the fascinating history surrounding this Winery. Morning - Castle Hill/Kura Tawhiti Castle Hill/Kura Tawhiti is an amazing labyrinth of giant limestone boulders. The area is rich with cultural and recreational significance and has been granted Tōpuni status “A symbolic cloak of protection”. Your guide will show you around, if you like you can have a go at bouldering and test your climbing skills, or use your time here to explore the endless maze of boulders. We stop here for lunch at Castle Hill. Afternoon - Cave Stream It will take us approximately 45mins to make our way through the 594 meters of the limestone cave. Our route follows the crystal-clear water through the winding chambers and small waterfalls. Not interested in caving? Nom problem your welcome to explore the paths and trails in the area or sit and relax with some afternoon tea in this very peaceful landscape instead of going through the cave.

For this morning adventure,1st stop - Te Mata Peak. The summit provides stunning 360-degree views across Hawke’s Bay and in the morning, with the sun behind us, we can usually see all the way west to Mt Ruapehu, the North Island’s highest mountain. Bring a camera because the views are incredible! From the Peak, we head to 2 premium wineries where you’ll taste some of Hawke’s Bay’s finest wines. Between wineries, we’ll take you across the fertile Heretaunga Plain, the district known around the country as ‘The Fruit Bowl of New Zealand’. Picturesque orchard, vineyard and rolling farm country will be our backdrop before we arrive for lunch at one of the region’s finest winery restaurants.
