New York State has it all – booming metropolises, majestic waterfalls, mountains, wine country, chicken wings. Yes, NYC is a magnet for tourists, but an exploration of the rest of the state can be equally thrilling. The Finger Lakes Wine Region is a vision of serene waters, quaint B&Bs, and pretty vineyards. Movie buffs will love Rochester, home of the George Eastman House and one of the world’s most comprehensive film archives. On your way to Niagara Falls, stop in Buffalo to fuel up on spicy wings.

We went to Skaneateles for a few hours and we were really happy that we did. The town is really cute with lots of fun stores and places to eat and very Covid friendly.

I always marvel at how good a day of climbing a rock can be, at any level. Alpine Endeavors makes that a possibility any time. They know safety, they know the local cliffs, and they know how to make customers feel like the day was custom made for them (because they can be!). Proof in the pudding? I proposed to my wife while ice-climbing, with an Alpine guide at our side and just returned with our young kids, too!

We love going on hikes at Root Glen, especially after it rains. It gives it a magical forest feel. There are plenty of trails to hike and plants to look at.

Watch your child gain confidence as they navigate, balance, and zip their way through the trees in the Kids Adventure Park. 2 courses specifically designed for kids aged 4-7.
So much fun. It's actually not scary once you get going. You feel very safe in the harness and you feel that your kids are safe. It's such a great activity for right now during the COVID crisis. You get to be outside and do a unique experience like that. My daughter had turned 10 (we did it for her birthday) and a little hesitant so we only did two of the seven courses over the three hour time. Tons of unique activities just on these two courses. The zip lines were the biggest hits. Total blast throughout and makes you want to go back. We went early and were glad we did- it got a lot busier towards the midday point when we were leaving. Highly recommend, especially now.

This is an easy well marked trail....we did the additional red trail to the summit of Rocky Knob....this is not a very steep hike at hall for going uphill, once on top you will get views of Lake Placid and Whiteface on onside, and the high peaks on the other side (Marcy, Algonquin..etc’).

We are a community sailing and marine education facility. Providing access to the water to groups and individuals through kayaking, standup paddle boarding, sailing, and marine educational programs for schools, groups and scouts.
Sonar 23' or Hobie Getaway 17' are great sailboats, Oyster Bay is beautiful and WFC offers wonderful community boating options and service, and the 10 pack is a good deal.
